That's a sick set of playmakers that will take a lot of pressure off of RGIII if they all stay healthy.

And people act like using free agency is something new to the chiefs. The chiefs have gone that route too and failed. And the vermeil core was a hell of a lot better than our core today. |

"Good enough to win" what? A Super Bowl?
This core group was good enough to get to 11-5 (playing a weak schedule) and losing in the first round of the playoffs. Now you take several key contributors away from that group and don't make any significant upgrades AND have to face a significantly tougher schedule next season... that is the recipe for 7-9 (at best). |

Is Joe Flacco a HoF QB? And Flowers wasn't demoted. He was moved because he was far more suited than Smith and Cooper. That defense imploded because of 3 glaring holes that coould have been easily filled with 2 FAs and a draft pick.

I am just saying that the idea that rebuilding hasn't worked has to also factor in that loading up in free agency hasn't worked either. And in the case of the vermeil years, it led to such a roster and cap mess, it took years and drastic measures to fix.

I am not going to call the Chiefs cheap because they have spent alot of money in the last couple of years but there was no way they were going to give Jackson $16 million guaranteed money.

A rebuild is the right idea if you don't have idiots making the draft picks. Unfortunately, that's what we had after they put Carl out to pasture. You don't need to stop rebuilding, you need to stop hiring idiots.

As for the Ravens, last time I checked, their core was incredibly successful in the playoffs prior to winning a Super Bowl. Before last year, they were carrying Flacco to playoff wins. |

I would rather take my chances and hope Dorsey isn't an idiot to build the team the right way than take the safe route of going all in on a roster that even with a few extra guys is a big Long shot to win the super bowl. Just me, of course. We've seen this dance before. We plug holes with expensive free agents, they disappoint, we end up in year three with a roster and cap situation that is a complete shit show. I'm through with that approach too.
