Week 2 is on the horizon with an early season showdown between two AFC West rivals.

Let's hear some predictions folks.

We never beat Manning.

But until this regime does, and I ****ing hate Manning and Denver and hate doing this, but I'm picking:
Broncos 16
Chiefs 10

I really hope they prove me wrong. I hope this is like the NE game last season but missing Smith for this game sucks.
Actually last year it would suck but this year Manning can't hit a broad side of a barn. We're gonna be just fine

THIS - So MUCH this...BUT I'm taking a different approach this year. The game for me is a litmus test, and a pretty simple one. To get to where we want to be, we must beat Denver. So, I'll say the Chiefs not only win, but they cover.

Cheating DONX - 20
CHIEFS - 24

I mean if we're ever gonna beat this guy, it's looking like now is the time.

the only thing that irritates me is the following:

prime time, home opener is a HUGE advantage for the home team. HUGE. (Which is why I don't know why I picked against Atlanta and San Fran last night ... when crowds are that pumped it is such a big advantage for the home team).

The one guy that is not bothered by crowd noise, at all, is Peyton Manning.

I still think we finally get over the hump and win this one.

Tackle well and protect the QB. That's all we have to do.

Honestly, I do too. It's not just an emotional prediction either. Maybe the fear is gone...

It's like when I was growing up, I once fought this guy 3 times and he kicked my ass every time. However, the 4th time I got him. I wasn't scared, nervous or anything. I just finally had enough. Shit, the worst had already happened to me 3 times with this guy. I had nothing to lose. And didn't. Dude never bothered me again. (Probably because he moved away at the end of the summer)

I know it's not that simple, but it kinda is. These teams are both good, and we're at home. There should be no fear. Just go play and win.

Oh so THAT'S what the Chiefs have been doing wrong all these years.

Best defense in the NFL? I'm sorry but their defensive line is not good enough to give them that honor. People are overreacting big time to a game in which they played a very average Ravnes offense without their LT. Ravens were still able to drive down the field at the end and should've won.

The biggest mismatch in this game is Denver's O-line vs. KC's front seven/crowd noise. That extra split second is a pretty big deal...and they got handled at home. Manning was beat up..

I'm interested in watching Peters...he's a natural ballhawk and Manning has been off target.... plus the ball takes a long time to get there. Peyton is going to be under pressure...and if he cant step up..he's going to be trapped.

They played a pretty physical game against the Ravens...then have to travel on Wednesday. They had a "jog through" practice today....So essentially one real practice to prepare. If Denver wins..they are going to have to earn it.

KC had the benefit of playing against the best all around pass rusher in the NFL....if Wade constantly brings the house like he did against Flacco....KC will exploit the edges like they did against Houston. Ravens best play was when they bounced it outside..

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

KC will need to score points to win it... that will be equally as difficult.
