Final Banner thread

It just comes down to wording now...

FIRE GM - DRAFT 1ST RD QB - RESTORE HOPE - SOC

NEW QB - NEW GM - NEW HOPE - SOC

---------

Had to change the first suggestion slightly because the airline guys don't have a # tile.

This, over and over. Anytime you think about signing another back QB or broken down QB (i.e. Flynn, Alex Smith, Vick, etc.) just go back and read this post.

I'm not saying this just because it was my suggestion, but I think #2 gets the message across and does so in a positive tone. If we think that Clark is about to pull the trigger, the goal is to start edging toward Clark's camp and sending the message that SOC is reasonable and willing to mend fences. #1 comes across as a bit bossy and confrontational, and I think that hill has already been taken.

Getting that detailed when you have to rally the support of fans that aren't that well versed and a media that is only willing to give you 60 second blurbs is counter-productive.

You can't lose the momentum that the PR battle has gained. It's the masses we're after here and the masses will respond better to the vague message focused on uh....hope and change....{sigh}. We've watched the masses get behind that bit of nebulous horseshit twice in the last 4 years now - it works.

It's the masses you have to appeal to here. We've done that so far - don't drop the baton this close to the finish line.
Exactly. You *want* the fans who think Alex Smith would be an acceptable "new QB" to stay on board the SOC movement. If you fracture the fan revolt into factions, everyone loses because SOC becomes ineffective as a voice of the fans. You just have to trust that the new GM will find the right new QB (which in minds of most here is a 1st round draftee).

and imploring that someone's job should be taken away from them isn't?

Agree. Also think the GM part should be first.

"New GM" is all about job creation, growth, and change. There's no need to directly address the messy background step of telling the old GM to move off the carpet and onto the plastic.

That change involves taking someone's job away, and that's pretty confrontational.

We've used Fire Pioli slogan for the whole campaign, and the only reason why I didn't back that tagline is due to the Belcher shooting.

If you have a kid and they ask for a first person shooting game, your instant reply is "what's it called, and for what brand" or they tell you specifically. You just don't get them any general gift for Christmas or they'll be very disappointed.
