****Official Golf Thread****

The original Bushwood thread is overflowing like Craig Stadler's FUPA.

Use this thread to discuss tournaments, swing thoughts, equipment, and golf deals.

I thought we could also use the OP to create a WITB for ChiefsPlanet members. I'll list a poster's name and put their sticks in a spoiler tag, so you can see what everyone is carrying.

I still think he was a great ambassador. He really helped draw a lot 'more' interest to the game. It's never hurt, but think added some octane to the fuel.

He was pretty athletic at Stanford but his body did change rapidly a year after turning pro. Jim Colbert on 810 said all but yes he he did among other players. Don't know if was sour grapes as he said Woods was pretty distant to most the pros and senior pros. He did say he was best in the world and busy being that. Also that he would never catch Jack because his swing was solid but very strenuous on the back. Also though was big mistake firing Butch.

Couple comments on the 'Open'.

1) When did they get the gall to just call it THE 'Open'? I remember when Watson was winning them, it was called the British Open. Because, ya know, there is more that 1 Open. Just kinda gets under my skin, like the TPC being renamed to 'The Players'.

2) Who the hell really wants to play that course? I get all the history and respect. But really, 50 degrees, rainy and 40 mph winds? In friggin' July? What a shit hole Scotland is. I can think of 500 other courses I'd rather play.

3) Best thing about this tournament is it's 5 hours ahead. Like Wimbledon, it's nice to get up and watch in the morning with coffee. Now I know how the west coast guys feel about Sunday morning football.

4) Oostie is my pick...

When's the last time an amateur led a major? Especially in the 3rd round. Spieth has crawled up to tie, but still, that's pretty impressive.

Padraig Harrington making a run too. Haven't heard his name in a while.

1) That's what the history of inventing the game affords you. Deal with it...

2) Me! Looking at it right now, it's BEAUTIFUL. Compared to the ****ing bullshit 100+ degrees I've suffered through a couple/three times a week for the last many weeks, and the ****ing sticky-ass humidity, I'd be more than happy to need a sweater-vest for a change.

3) No comment, no real opinion either way..

4) I'm really enjoying watching Dunne. Might not win, but it's fun to see a young man like him compete...

What I bolded) You can **** the **** off my friend! Obviously you've never been to Scotland! IOW, a good rule of thumb is you only stay in the south of England long enough to land and get a rental! Scotland is not just awesome, it's ****ing totally awesome! The people there, like northern Ireland, are simply wonderful! And their countries are as beautiful as their people!

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure the only people who called it the British Open weren't in Great Britain. I thought that was more of an American thing.

I always really enjoy this tournament no matter where it is. It's different than the other majors and presents a more old school challenge to the golfers, I think it's great.

While Scotland may be pretty, weather is everything. Give me an average public course in Florida any day over that.

Scotland reminds me of when I lived in Austria. Gorgeous views when the sun was out. That was 15% of the time.
