Philosophically, I'm not interested in a back in rounds 1 or 2 that aren't pretty complete. Zeke I might could be talked into taking in the first, maybe.
I think it's just how Alabama used him.

Running back Derrick Henry -- 6-foot-2 1/2, 244 pounds -- got some extra credit for stepping in as a receiver because the event didn't have enough wide receivers. The scouts on hand were ecstatic over how well the 2015 Heisman Trophy winner caught the ball. Henry stepped in and showed that he has real good route-running ability, and that is just another skill that he possesses that people didn't realize that he was so good at. Henry really helped himself out at the pro day.

It's also scheme fit. Miami is in a ZBS under Gase, which is what Henry should be in.

Yeah, if he can do that, my opinion would be alot different on him.

Overall, I'm just more in favor of going for a back later in draft. Seems alot have come late in recent years

I just don't k ow what to th8nk of Bama skill guys. They have so much talent around them there, it's tough to eval

Size and long speed.

Physics don't lie: F = M*A

There's a lot of mass behind Henry and while he doesn't get up to speed incredibly fast, if you give him a clean couple of strides, he'll be a guy you definitely do not want to be in front of.

In fairness, Chicago's defense was shit up the middle last year. They already signed two ILBs. They drafted Goldman and picked up the swamp monster at NT, but at DE they've kinda got nothing. They signed Akiem Hicks, so this would look like a three-man rotation, but they definitely needed to add 2 DEs in the draft IMO. You can ask if a rotational player is worth a top 50 pick for sure, but it's not out of left field I think. Not like he drafted two wide receivers in the first 32.

There's a lot of mass behind Henry and while he doesn't get up to speed incredibly fast, if you give him a clean couple of strides, he'll be a guy you definitely do not want to be in front of.
That's true, but there are also big guys that run fast on the other side. I don't know how long a big bruising back like that can hold up and with a 2nd round pick, longevity is a factor.

I think Henry can definitely be a good player, but I'd wait and look st a guy like Alex Collins in round 3.

Of course there's the chance Henry os more agile and has better vision than I think and he's adrian Peterson 2.0

If you think you can get that kind of production later in the draft, you're entitled to your opinion, but don't downplay that he produced at phenomenal pace at the collegiate level. He's rated as the 2nd best HB in the draft for A REASON. You're aren't going to get a player that produced 2219 Yards, 28 TDs, and at 6.0 yards per carry in just his junior year alone, much deeper in the draft. He's also a perfect scheme fit for the Dolphins, so I stand by the pick.

Pull up Henry's senior year of high school stats if you need more persuasion. High school, I know, but still...

I don't mind somebody questioning the pick, but to do it in a condescending manner, as if he's right and everyone else is wrong, when Henry was considered by many as a 1st round talent is petty. Henry performed at an incredible level, so it's somewhat insulting and there's no reason to act holier than thou, like O city did. I shouldn't have to justify picking Henry is the 2nd round for the Dolphins, as most already know it's not some reach, like he's suggesting. O city likes to to stir the shit pot, so I ask for him to lick the spoon.

How am I condescending? I offered my opinion.

Context matters when arguing stats at the collegiate level. How did the player get to this statistical levels and will it translate.

Looking back at the history of recent alabama backs, it's been hit or miss on how they've translated into the league. They're almost always running behind a great offensive line, Henry being no exception.

This is like using Connor cooks td to int numbers to prop up accuracy. Conext matters.

I really didnt mean to come off that way. My apologies.

I'm pretty positive he will go early and be a good player, just not the direction I'd go.
