How the hell did I call myself?

I just received a home phone call from "cardholder services" telling me I could lower my rates. (Scam)

But--The caller ID showed MY HOME PHONE NUMBER!!!!!!!!

HOW THE HELL?

Is the call coming from inside the house?

Crap like that freaks me out.

Can they hack my computer?
Get the beeps off the phone when I enter credit card information?

I know the answer is no-but sometimes I wonder.

If I added a picture-it would all be edited out for privacy.

You butt dialed yourself, gotta kill it with fire. Fill the toilet bowl with gasoline, light a match and sit tight.

Yeah, we got a call like that as well. Considering the number of robo/scam calls e get, we pretty much look at the caller ID, before picking up. Well, I saw the number and it looked familiar and answered it. As soon as I heard that Card Services bitch, I hung up and only then realized why the number was familiar. It was mine.

Something a bit weirder - the Bosslady's cell phone is pretty much kept in her purse. One morning she got a phone call, and since only a handful of people have her number she answered. It was some gal who was returning her call. Se stated that she had a wrong number, but no, she said that she simply hit redial. Sorry still not us. I got onto my Sprint account, and sure enough, her phone made the call the previous night at 2am. We were both asleep at that time and neither of us sleep walk. I notified Sprint's fraud unit that somehow, the phone was being hacked.

As an aside, I mentioned the incident to a buddy of mine and told him the number. He said "Oh that's the XXX Hotline." Huh? I checked it out and sure enough it was some sex phone line. Boy was he busted.

Also, at least with my service, the ring is strange, too. It'll ring, pause, then ring again, which signifies a spoof.
Caller ID spoofing for fun and profit

I used to love doing that to cell phones and getting dropped straight into voice mail.
