Is KC a Baseball town or a Football town?

So this tweet got me thinking that KC is primarily a baseball town. At least when the Royals are good.

Just looking through the posts it feels like apathy has set in again with the Chiefs....

Disgussss.....

It's both. Royals are winning.

Chiefs need to lose the SB in the final minute, then be great the following year. Then it will even out.

It's a whatever sport is better at the moment town. And I don't think that's unique to KC.

Kansas City wants badly to support a team that puts a winning product on the field, the Chiefs have come closest to that. Outside of the last couple years the Royals for the most part have been a poorly ran with bad teams throughout
I think that's why the Chiefs have been supported more so the last 20 years or so.
Now the Royals have been kicking tail and are going to the playoffs again.
Chiefs have really taken a back seat on the bus in this town everyone just wants to live, taste and breathe Royal blue.

Not sure what this means, but the Royals came within an inch of winning it all last year.

The Chiefs havent come that close in decades.

Royals were a cratered organization for all of my adult life and most of my child hood minus like a few brief years with f'ing bo Jackson and the tail end of George Brett's years. Their continued sadness made me pretty much stop watching baseball altogether. Still haven't found the time to care about that organization anymore but I'm glad they made it to the championship. The Chiefs haven't yet burried themselves in a jagged wasteland of sorrow like the Royals had for 9000 years but I'm sure they can find a way if they keep pussying out with game manager quarterbacks in a quarterback driven league.

Meh, NFL is still king and it'll always be king here too. Really how many Royals fans also follow the Chiefs? Probably 90%. Of those who only follow one id bet anything the Chiefs lead by a healthy margin.

I'm not sure about that KC can become like STL real quick if the Royals win the WS.

The Royals bring me more joy, at the moment, and I love baseball ... But the Chiefs will always be my #1 sports passion
