Just your weekly reminder that Chris Jones is really good

It sucks losing Allen Bailey, but Chris Jones is ****ing balling out there.

Dadi Nicolas flashed too in one of his two snaps, but here's Jones with a nice spin move getting into the backfield.

Let Berry walk and cut Jamaal this offseason.

We also need to cut Hali as soon as possible.

Take a look at cutting Bailey this offseason.

We need to find DJ's replacement because he's likely going to hit a wall here soon and we've done a shitty job of finding his heir apparent (not giving up on March and Alexander but meh).

and replace those guys with who?

I get the need for cap room, but you're talking about getting rid of some of our best players and leaders when really there's no need to. I do agree on finding DJ's replacement.

If you wanted to let Berry walk and pay Poe, you could do that and keep literally everyone else with money to spare.

Hali isn't what he was as far as a full time starter, but he still gives us great snaps. Bailey is still a really nice piece up front, whether Jones takes his job or not.

http://www.chiefs.com/news/article-2...0-56fa9cfb945e <-- Nice article with Chris Jones quotes from today:

“This is an opportunity that I'm going to take advantage of,” Jones said. “I wish injury on no one. This don't come by often. I'm going to utilize the ability to execute this defense, play hard and make plays."

Jones approached Allen Bailey, when he said “I told him, ‘I got you. It’s OK. Get yourself healthy, and don't stress out about it. I got you.'"

Bailey really isn't going to cut... I think any talk of that is unwarranted.

Just because a guy catches a tough break doesn't mean they just forget about him. He's still a good player, and we need as many of those as we can get.

It isnt the flashiest of those gifs, but the second one is just killer... excellent run defense I didnt see that one during the game... he controlled that from the start, got push immediately and threw off the play design, was never off balance and had his eyes on the ball the entire time

#4 was eye popping bullishness

But #5... a rookie displaying an effective spin move at tackle, thats just unreal... there hasnt been a single shred of evidence so far to suggest that he is anything but a 100% natural

Great balance

Great brute strength

Great quickness and speed

Great hand placement paired with those huge wings

Keeps his head up and in the play, doesnt get lost in the one on one battles, always looks like he can disengage whenever he chooses

Man I dont want to go overboard, but this kids ceiling is out in Alpha Centauri

too bad we lose rotational depth with bailey out, but jones already looks like a more impactful player

and i think it's been clear for awhile that the chiefs have picked poe over berry, which is correct because poe is the rarer specimen

All of those guys are getting paid beyond their production and they have replacements already on the roster.

Now that I think back, I think it was sometime in late July that there was a report that their first priority was locking up Poe.

And then you look at all the different ways they use him. I bet they are leaning in the direction of Poe.

Yeah they do, but what happens if Houston gets hurt again? Dee Ford hasn't proven yet that he's good enough to take all of Hali's snaps away. And if Jones, Howard or Poe get hurt?

Hali won't be cut, it would cost us cap space. We need to see Jamaal play for awhile before we say he's done.

Berry-not worth the $$. We've found capable safeties in FA and so have other teams. We have Murry to play the box safety role. Draft or sign a safety with athletic ability like Parker.

Bailey-no way do you pay $6.5 million on a backup next year. Restructure or sign a vet to come in as a backup, or draft someone.

Colquitt-draft a replacement

Tamba-I am 100% in favor of keeping him in 2017 in a limited role. He's been very effective there. I really like Nicolas bc he keeps flashing when he gets on the field. Let him bulk up and draft another edge rusher in the mid rounds to be the 5th man in the depth chart so we can cut Zombo.

Mauga-let him go and sign a cheaper vet with March back as depth and ST's (March is cheap as hell right now). Would also be in favor of drafting someone.

Is it possible that Sorenson is a legit player at safety?
