Saw a bunch of Chiefs players at tonight's NBA preseason game @sprint center

The Chiefs PR team sucks ass.

Marcus Peter's is not the thug the local media wants him to be. That guy despite being constantly bothered made sure to sign every little kids autograph or take pics despite being bothered during the game.

DJ is also a class act kind of puzzling why he wasn't marketed more.

Like the Patriots do I think we play shenanigans with the injury report. Albert Wilson sure as **** was handling those stairs at Sprint center fine. His knee didn't look sprained in the slightest.

Useless thread but yeah we have some great dudes in this franchise. Despite what's being portrayed and how the Royals kill the Chiefs in PR is beyond me.

Shane was awesome. Fun guy, looked like Will Smith and was the team prankster. Tunnel danced well.

There is a long discussion on 610 about Peters frustrations. They said it stemmed from him always playing on the left side no matter what. He wants to move around but Sutton doesn’t do it.

I would tend to side with Peters there. I don't see the point in always sticking to one side? He should always match up against the other teams best WR.

From a technique perspective it's easier to play on a single side.

Some have wondered the merit of keeping Sherman chained to one side instead of letting him match up against the opposing team’s top receiver. As former NFL receiver Hines Ward said on NBC: “Sherman is on the cover of Madden and he spent tonight covering Jarrett Boykin. How can you be best when you’re on a nobody?”

Carroll disagrees.

“There’s no issue we have at this point and no reason to do anything differently than what we do,” Carroll said. “But there may come a time.”

At its core, this comes down to Carroll’s philosophy. He wants his cornerbacks to be so trained with their technique and so familiar with their side of the field that it becomes second nature. He rarely uses his corners as chess pieces. They are more like anchors.

Sherman voiced his frustration with not making any plays, but Carroll talked to his All-Pro corner after the game and told him otherwise.

“This is an extraordinary competitor that wants to be in the middle of everything and is frustrated that he didn’t feel like he was an active part of it,” Carroll said. “I’m telling him that he was.”

Sherman essentially sliced off one-third of the field. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers rarely threw to Sherman’s third of the field — and even when he did he usually just dumped the ball off to a running back.

“If a team lets you know that they’re not throwing the ball to one side of the field, it helps everybody that’s playing pass defense,” Carroll said. “If it’s not going over there, it’s going over here … It’s simply that. We just know where the ball is going.

“We can’t bank on that totally, but after a while in a game it’s pretty clear. The underneath droppers know the quarterback is coming back their way and they might just get a better break and as the game wears on and the story is told I think it helps us.”

Also keep in mind most QBs are right handed and open to their right. It is easier for them to throw to their right side of the field.. So there are some advantages to keeping Peters on one side of the field. Not saying I disagree or agree with Sutton here but he clearly has his reasons as does Carroll.

A whole upper level curtained off and empty seats for a preseason game between two teams that are not actually Kansas City teams? You don't say!

Have you heard Peters speak? He doesn't help himself at all. That combined with his past make anyone that cares believe he is a thug.

DJ is soft spoken and in KC which is why he isn't marketed more on top of the Chiefs not winning in the playoffs.
