Chiefs Will we beat Denver? - Page 7

I think we lose by multiple scores, but I can see us sneaking out a win if a few things happen.

1) Avery returning brings an added element to the offense and forces Denver to back their safeties up. This is an element they haven't seen on tape to prepare for and I wouldn't be surprised if we come out and test them deep a few times early on.

2) Avant is able to get us 3 or 4 first downs. Alex Smith has throw too many good passes that should have gone for first downs if the catch is secured. Hopefully Avant can give us what Dexter did last year down the stretch in terms of possession receiver.

3) Houston, Hali, Poe, Bailey and Ford find ways to pressure Manning and limit him to shorter throws.

4) Gaines/Smith finds a way to match up with their receivers. This will be the toughest test our secondary will face all year.

5) Our OL gives Alex time to find the open man and opens up a few holes for Charles and Davis.

6) Alex gets the ball to Kelce a lot more. This kid should be getting 7-10 targets every game.

7) As with any other game, win the turnover battle. We can't afford to cough up the ball against them and we will need to take it away a couple times, too.

8) Crowd noise. It needs to be loud as it can be to help our pass rush get Manning uncomfortable.

I guess I could list a lot more things we have going for u that can give us a chance to win this one, but it's gonna be tough.

I'm not sure we'll beat them, but this is our best shot to do so in the borrowed-Manning era.

Yes we do beat them. I'm very excited for the game, and a little nervous. This is our best opportunity to beat them. I think a lot of our past failures to beat manning came from just horrible coaching. This is our time to shine! Not guessing a score, just calling a Chiefs victory!

I wish. In reality, I see a one score game where the Chiefs have the ball with a chance to win, but Aex under throws Dexton Wessler or some schmoe who shouldn't be targeted on 4th down and we lose

The past has no bearing on the future, each contest is its own new animal.

We lost on a last second goal line stand IN Denver, if we can take them to the wire in their house... we can beat them in ours, the Gods and odds favor us tomorrow.

A game like this is when Smith will be less passive and force some scramble runs. If he doesn't lose the ball when doing this it could be the difference. If he does the game flips the other way.

Unless the Broncos cheat, there's no way the Chiefs lose this game.

By the way, has Von Miller been arrested this week? I haven't been able to keep up on the local news.

It will be interesting to see how Joe Mays and Ryan Harris perform, too.

Off topic, why the F do Broncos fans buy a Manning jersey? He's not your QB, most of his damage was done with another franchise. He's pretty much renting a home then moving back to Indianapolis when it's over. Odd.

I think it's unknown. If the Chiefs of last week show up, folks will make it to work in the AM without a problem (and I'll make my 8:00am very well rested). If the good Chiefs show up, we have a chance.
