If Scooter fails to get Bowe signed...

And winds up dumping him via trade before the regular season, will your opinion of him change?

I kind of agree with this. We did sign Breaston but I think he was brought in to be the 3rd guy.

If he doesn't want to be a Chief then what can you do? Pay an unhappy player? Look at what Moss did to the Vikings when Favre was their QB.

Probably the same thing that is keeping Wes Welker from signing in NE: Patriot Way arrogance and bullshit.

True, but they did go after Breaston and signed him to a decent contract. Taking Baldwin last year, and the WR selections this year make it look like we have no intention of signing Bowe to a long term deal.

He's one of the best WR in the league.

If they don't pay him they are in a world of shit. Who else do they have at WR?

It's his job to manage the Salary Cap too. Bowe cap number is 9.5M this year and if he gets tag next year that should be around 11m to 12m.

So i bet Bowe is looking for a deal around 11m a year, Pioli is trying to get that down to 9m.

Pioli would look real smart if we saved some money and never won a playoff game.

Overpaying for players is stupid for any team.

At the end of the day, the only player that you must absolutely overpay if necessary to keep him is the franchise QB.

Beyond that, the reality is that everyone else is expendable.

Well shit, I just can't imagine why you would sign a stud slot receiver and draft a potential stud on the outside to line up opposite your other outside stud.

What a waste.

Welker is a good player, but he's also in a system and with a QB that allows him to inflate his stats. Just like when they plugged in Edelman in 2009 he was able to produce at a solid rate.

Who did they actually have at WR when they were actually winning SBs?

Wes Welker has only averaged 110 catches 1,221 yards a year for five years.

That's shitty, though.
