Meh.
It's not like Cardinals fans are bandwagoning on to the Chiefs. The Chiefs haven't won a playoff game in 22 years. |

Rooted the Sox on for a couple of years, but after that I just didn't care anymore about MLB. Rooting for an alternate team just isn't the same. This Royals team has brought back my love for baseball, and the past couple of seasons have been an experience I've never felt, nor could ever feel while rooting for an "alternate" team. |

Me. We're getting into town Friday before noon. Plan on watching game 1 in Wrigleyville and then attending Saturday's game. Heading home Sunday.

I think we're getting our preheat on at Maifest not far from the stadium on Saturday. There's like a beer fest up here every weekend. |

I'm trying to convince my oldest Son to look at Loyola University. If he were to go to school there, I'd most likely buy a place up there that he/we could use.

Oh, we're talking about one of my favorite topics: Fans who can't stick to a region. Awesome!
I get why some do it... But I do like to make fun of people who grow up in one place but root for a bunch of teams they have no ties to because they're good. My favorite example is one of my former colleagues at Sporting News. Chad was a graphics guy for the book business, and was a nice enough (if kind of simple) fellow... I didn't mind him until I talked to him about sports beyond baseball. Then the hatred started. Chad was from West county St. Louis. He grew up a diehard Cardinals fan. He went to KU because he "loved" college basketball and loved them because of how good they were. His NFL team was the Broncos. He was a RED WINGS fan in hockey (and if you've lived in St. Louis, especially during the 90s or 2000s, you know this is a BIG thing), though he "got into" the Avalanche when he was in college at KU (This was during the Forsberg/Sakic era, shocker, right?) In basketball, he was a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls (though his interest in the NBA had wanted, according to him, since around 2000 when "the game changed" - aka, Jordan retired and the Bulls stopped being awesome). He also had a secondary baseball team: The New York Yankees. To top all of this off, Chad was an avid gun nut before being a gun nut became a thing. He talked any chance he could about his "drop gun." He had a Desert Eagle in his truck at all times. And he listened to conservative talk radio, full blast, every day in the office. I swear this was a real person. Looking back at it now, it's hard to believe he was. But when I think of "douchy T-shirt fan" ... his face is what springs to mind. And he's a Cardinals fan. Sorry to the guys around here for that (you all are awesome, the most awesome segment of your fanbase I've encountered on the interwebs).

There are a lot of god awful Cardinal fans out there, and it runs a gamut--from St. Louis private school douchebags to the homer-hipster ****s at vivaelbirdos; I've found it's best to forsake their existence altogether.

And any dipshit who says you can't be a Chiefs/Cardinals fan obviously never A) lived outside of Kansas City if they lived in this state and B) is likely under 25.
