Hard Knocks with the TB Bucs

So the show started last night and I'm just now catching episode one... if anyone else watches, we can discuss here.

First takeaway--Jameis Winston is coming off as a complete tard ass. The dude was shown talking to Dirk Koetter in his office and told him that he rarely ever checks the down and distance before a play. One of the most important things to know for a QB. That wasn't the only time I asked 'WTF?' about things he did/said.

Anyways, looks like it will be entertaining.

It was a very different Hard Knocks, to my eye. A lot more time spent with the players either chatting during practice, or at home.

Much more positivity and less 'quirk'

I don't know much about the team's skill level, but I like them as a unit much more than any previous season.

No Ryan getting a mother****ing snack, or Rams players wrecking go carts, or Cak'n Patna holding out until the first preseason game. No pranks or bling. Very business-like and they seem like genuinely solid people. I know Winston has a history, but between his house at the start [could have been [one of] MY grandparent's houses [Mom's side moved A LOT], the youth camp connectedness, and the dedication at the end, he seems to have settled into his place.

McCoy with his kimonos, his kids, and carrying his teammates' gear. Another quality dude.

And Lord, my Dear Sweet Lord, Mike Evans. One of the few guys in the league I'd trade anyone right up to Reid for. Maybe not Mahomes, but Evans has the edge of being proven. A year from now full of positive Mahomes news, probably not him. But anyone else, certainly. Dude has the size of LeBron, the speed of anyone except 'Reek and the hands of Steve Smith. Drool city.

They could well continue on a mediocre track, but it's nice to see inside and be made aware that they seem to be dedicated quality dudes. Very blue collar. Very Joe Lunchpail. They didn't seem to need screaming or antics to motivate them.

They cut Aguayo, a year after trading up to get him in the second round. That oughta be a good episode.

They just released their 2nd round kicker that they traded up for. That's hilarious.

Reminded me more of Andrew WK

Don't know if people know his pedigree.

He's third generation starter at MSU, going back to Hank who later coached. Both sons [Riley's dad Shane and brother Chuck played LBer]. As does little brother Byron. Big bro Max was MLB for Houston Texans until he got suspended for PED.

And his mom goes back on the Notre Dame side, her Dad was Jim Morse who started for ND, as did her brother Bobby who played later for the NO Saints.

Pretty wild, but subtle insights into his personality this week.

When the 3rd stringer Griffin went into the game in the second half, he went to his teammates and told them 'see how clean I am. Keep your QB out there this clean.'

Then, after Griffin gets blindsided on a rollout and the offense comes off the field, he goes over to two sitting o-linemen [who were apparently gabbing and chuckling] and tells them 'glad you guys are enjoying yourselves, but Griffin just injured his arm. Just keep on enjoying yourselves, though.'

Interesting. Not sure that I buy his portrayal.

Reminds me of Troy Aikman. That guy was a leader.
