True, but the level of success our fanbase demands requires elite recruiting. Hopefully Dan can deliver.

Well when you think the ghost of prime Bear Bryant is coming in to coach, an actual solid hire is a letdown.

Considering the situation, Mullen was a dang good hire. Maybe next time around they'll let the coach pick all of his own guys if they want to ghost chase.

Can't believe you guys struck out on Kelly and Frosty. Not going to lie that report that you guys were going all out for Frost had me worried. Even though Nebraska supposedly has had a mutual agreement with Frost since mid November.

Schiano is not getting the Tennessee job.

What a break for them. Their fans saved that program.

You could have done worse.... like Greg Schiano...

Mullen, IMHO, is a good hire. He has developed Dak Prescott and that Fitz guy is pretty solid too.

My BIL is probably relieved as he is a UofT alumni. It'll be interesting to see if Currie will have a job after this fiasco......

The ol' rumor mill is whipping up Jimbo to A&M is going to happen and Taggart/FSU is a near certainty if part one happens.

Will be interesting. Depending on how Currie went about, he could have violated procedure by trying to force in Schiano.

If they can punt him with cause, he's absolutely gone in the next year. Without it, I still wouldn't rule it out. I know he's pissed off everybody connected to the program in any form (even Peyton Manning ****ing hates Schiano).

He's probably toast.

I have to believe that he totally ****ed up the search and hire, and they might have to owe money to Schiano. Now if you were U of T President and a very influential booster, would you trust him to go out and make a good hire after all this went down?

I wouldn't.

So Currie ran away from K-State because he didn’t have the balls to hire someone other than Sean Snyder, then, he tries to hire Schiano, the state, even the politicians, go haywire and now Schiano’s out before he could sign the deal.

How does Currie have a job?

Both sides could opt to nix the deal and if there isn't an out and Schiano decides to nail them to it, would guarantee he will never get an actual shot again.

Running Tennessee is definitely more favorable than Kansas State, so I don't blame him there. **** working somewhere where the guy you work for wants to force his son as your next employee.

The understanding is he formed a list of 1. Gruden 2. Frost 3. Mullen and Schiano was the emergency option. 1-3 said **** you and he hurried to rush the emergency to show he had competence. Others in his department figured it out and started leaking everything because well, it's Schiano.

The best option would be unironically to tell Butch Jones they were just kidding because nobody decent is going to touch that ****ing job this go around.

Didn't Currie run off Frank Martin for Webber too?

Which should tell you that Currie is a individual who coaches hate to work for. If that 1-3 list told him to **** off, I can believe that with 100% certainty, because he had that same issues in Manhattan. Him and Bill Snyder were, for a lack of better words, non-communicative and they had to get a individual to run down to pass their messages and what not.

As for the Sean Snyder situation, I am not a big fan of that route as well, so..... *shrugs*

Since Mullen took the Florida job-will that mean Frost to NU is the only option? No news yet.
