All Things Video Games & Game Reviews

Hey guys...
Thought we could use a thread to help one another out with purchasing new and used games. Now that the next gen consoles are out and the holiday season will soon be upon us, many new games are going to drop. We've been throwing 'reviews' in several different threads or making new threads for each game. I thought we might like to converge and discuss them as a whole. Whether you're on PS3, 360, PS4, XB one or even a wii, PC and Mac, this is a repository for what you're playing and how you rate it.

Let's try to do a 1-10 scale for each game. Take into account the following:

Storyline
Challenge
Replayability
Graphics
Online functionality
Downloadable content
AI/npc's
Price
Length of gameplay

You can use all or some of those as a guide to score the game. If there are other aspects you'd like to tell as about with your game, please do so. These are just suggentions.

Please note what system, (if necessary i.e. It being exclusive to a system) you're playing on and let us know what you think.

1. Sucks, I'd rather watch Brodie Croyle play as our starter. This game is dogshit.
2. Don't waste your time. It's obviously been programmed by a bunch of chimps with syphilis.
3. I'd rather eat tapioca pudding out of my grandmothers colostomy bag, then stick my tongue in her stoma.
4. Meh, there's really better stuff to do, (like waxing my pubes) but I was lazy.
5. This is kinda like purgatory. It's not the best place to be but it could be worse.
6. Not bad at all... It's like I just scored a BJ from my hot first cousin.
7. Entertaining as all hell, kinda like the feeling where you just drank enough not to puke and can still walk.
8. Buy this game, I'm super-cereal. It's got stuff that makes my nipples tingly.
9. HELL F'ing YEAH! I'd talk more about it but I'm gonna be locked in place for a week just playing this ****er.
10. This game is like godfather two and the empire strikes back joined forces to **** your face off with wow. I'm taking all of my PTO days and going on FMLA.

EDIT: We can also discuss upcoming/all things gaming in here as well.
Enjoy!

I picked up Shovel Knight on the steam sale. Great old school game. Literally. I love that everything is in the realm of the NES. Even the difficulty. Great buy for $10.

Also bonus points for the game recognizing my Dual Shock 4 controller with the button prompts.

Worth the purchase?

I don't know I probably don't need one, but man, some of them look pretty ****ing sweet.

Meh. Some things about it are pretty cool but the storyline is so boring and the gameplay is repetitive. The Hacking mini games get exceedingly old. I traded it in after a week.

I only use mine when I play CoD. They're beneficial (to me anyways) bc of the paddles on the back of the controller. The paddles allow you to not take your thumb off the right stick when you need to jump or switch weapons or melee, so you'll always be able to aim and follow your target. I don't really see how they could be beneficial on other games, but I'm sure they could be. It all depends on how you want your paddles programmed. And yes, they can look real ****ing sweet

So, a Turtle Beach headset would maybe be more beneficial?

So far WatchDogs has been ok, so far its worth the 30 i paid for it. Of course there are things that i WTF about like when i crash on the motorcycle my dude somehow does not fly off and cars get hurt more then the motorcycle! lol

I could see why people were turned off by it, but so far, its ok. That could change at anytime, still very early in the game though. I need to get a better video card though. Its kind of struggling.

i got Watchdogs and BF4 for Xmas.

looking forward to them. Though, i've been out of the FPS mode for a good 2 years now and will take me a while to get into the swing of things. I'll most likely fire it up after I finish Watchdogs.

im just mostly doing the main storyline. I hate side missions for most games. Its just something so they can add up the hours for 100 percent completion. All AAA sandbox games have them.

Speaking of side games...
I don't think I've ever been quite as pissed at a game like I am with Farcry 4.
Don't get me wrong.... Beautiful game. Well thought out and enjoyable.
However, THE ****ING SIDE MISSIONS!
So damned anti-climactic. I absolutely busted my ass to get all these masks from serial murder sites. Nothing ****ing happened. You'd figure something weird and spooky or nerve racking, right? Nope. Here's a weapon unlock or some worthless reward.
The fashion week Thing? You go all over the map killing special animals that just kick your ass and you craft gear for this fruity little fashion designer.
You literally have to just about beat the game to get it done.
Your reward? A note from the guy saying he's left town.
The only side missions worth two shits is for the local weapons dealer. He's a crazy mofo. Shitheads.

Side missions in Borderlands are important because they help level your character. Without them....you're ****ed.
