USA Today predicts Chiefs at 4-12 for 2014

I could see it happening but really 6-8 wins seems pretty doable.

AFC West

Broncos 12-4 (2): Could be better than 2013 team even if wins and offensive output dip. But schedule is murderous.

Chargers 8-8: Last year's schedule allowed late-season charge. This year's could easily produce late-season slide.

Chiefs 4-12: Tight salary cap meant crippling free agent defections, and they didn't sufficiently reload in draft.

Raiders 3-13: Best thing influx of over-the-hill vets can do is change culture. Carr, Mack promise brighter days ahead.

No, because we didn't score any touchdowns. I'll give Alex credit when he starts making those throws on every ****ing drive and scoring some goddamn points.

God damn, stop treating this scrub QB like he has the leeway to take baby steps with his game. He needs to straighten up and start shitting us tiffany cufflinks RIGHT ****ING NOW or he goes on the garbage heap. He's a ****ing veteran, and supposedly ****ing awesome. Get shit done, or get out, Mr. Smith.

Okay, you can look at this two ways.

One, alex smith throws to the open guys, which is how Andy Reid wants it.

Or, alex smith is so scared, and afraid of mistakes that he wont throw to a receiver who is remotely covered.

Now, I will take the logical approach.

Somewhere in the middle.

Which is true.

But, Alex has proven time and time again that when he has to make a play, he will.

The colts playoff game on 4th down, Bowe wasn't exactly open, the eagles game on 3rd down after mcclusters mess up, in the divisional game vs the saints.

He needs to be more that guy no question.

But at some point, the receivers have to WIN.

Unfortunately, the Chiefs receivers don't every really win.

Flowers
But Flowers is taking a long-term view as he works back from an undisclosed leg injury. During the 2013 campaign with the Chiefs, Flowers played with a knee issue. He would not say if the two injuries are related.

“It’s a marathon, it’s not a sprint at all,” Flowers said about dealing with the injury. “So that’s how we’re approaching this thing.”

Flowers was a limited participant in practice on Saturday, and said he’s hopeful to be healthy enough to play in San Diego’s second preseason game on the road against Seattle.

“I’m trying to build every day,” he said. “My plan is to be on the field this week. We’ll see how it goes.”

The Chargers could use him and first-round selection cornerback Jason Verrett on the field. The TCU product is still wearing a red jersey at practice, limiting his contact during team drills as he works back from offseason shoulder surgery.

Verrett and Flowers did not play against the Cowboys. Dallas quarterback Brandon Weeden finished 13 of 17 for 107 yards and a touchdown against San Diego’s secondary. Weeden was not sacked and posted a 111.6 passer rating.

The Chargers finished without a interception and five pass breakups against the Cowboys, although Richard Marshall had an interception overturned because of a defensive holding penalty.

Flowers said watching from the sidelines helped better prepare him once he’s healthy enough to play.

“Mentally, it’s been good for me,” Flowers said. “Instead of just being out there, trying to understand the calls and everything, I get a chance to just see how everything progresses. So just getting a chance to look at it from another angle I think is going to help me a lot when I get back on the field.

“I think it’s helped me tremendously. Everything happens for a reason, so this might just be my little thing to just glance at everything from the sideline, and see why we play certain calls in certain situations.”

He plays to the strengths of his team.

That absolutely drives you crazy for some reason.

Winning, just drives you mad.

You would rather lose pretty, than win ugly.

You are every thing that is wrong with sports.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME.

He wasn't, but his cap numbers were over $10 mil, which is why he was cut. Just didn't match up with his play on the field.

There are two positions that ARENT problems on the offense.

Running back/fullback, and qb.

the rest are below league average across the board.

The Tight ends can elevate if kelce shows he can play against beasts, instead of scrubs.

You keep repeating this lie.
He actually doesn't have a record of holding the ball in the pocket. His O-Lines have almost always sucked and it is why he gives the targets a quick look and then tosses it short or runs up or out of the pocket.
http://www.footballoutsiders.com/und...sack-deviation

2013 felt slower than his recent past. Some of that was more designed roll-outs.
Some of that was learning a new offense.
2014 I'd expect quicker throws as he and the pass targets will be smoother at executing plays.

Exactly. Some people here seem to think if you dont have a top 5 QB you're wasting your time and have no chance at winning a super bowl. Alex is easily a top 15 QB and is very capable of getting us to one. If the OL gets their shit together and Kelce comes on this year we shouldnt have a problem.
