This is untrue. They had more money offered to Mack on the table when he signed with ATL (CLE $10 mil v $9.5 with ATL). They had the top offer out to Schwartz when they pulled it ($7.5 million per) but felt Schwartz wasn't serious about signing and just using the team as leverage.
The stories of lowball offers were from free agents of other teams. They offered Mack and Schwartz their biggest deals and they chose to not take them. |

I can't tell what that attachment is but I've been on twitter all day. Those were reported by national media.

The guys on Sirius I was listening to on my way home from work were talking like us signing Schwartz was basically a need to fill since we lost Allen and Stephenson and we were just trading players and not upgrading.

Michael Silver also reporting Schwartz wanted to stay when Browns abruptly pulled offer.

Mike Silver has always had an axe to grind with the Browns, and it's easy to say that now that it's over "oh but I really wanted to stay." If he wanted to stay, he would have signed it before they pulled it. He was using the Browns.

If that's how you feel. Schwartz should never been allowed to hit free agency. He should of been signed last year.

He was doing what any sensible person in his position does by driving up his price through a bidding war. Was he using the Browns? Yes, but he was also using every other team interested in signing him.

I'm so glad Donald Stephenson and Jeff Allen are gone. Stephenson is the worst draft pick this franchise has ever seen. Yep, that's right - the absolute worst.
One pick before a Super Bowl winner, two time NFC championship winner. When we needed a QB. And why? So our horrible GM wouldn't threaten his horrible QB that he got in a horrible trade and signed to a horrible contract. Nobody gives a shit that the Seahawks overpaid for Matt Flynn. They don't care at all. Because Russell ****ing Wilson came in and wiped that travesty from the face of the earth. Which is exactly what should have happened in Kansas City. Instead we draft a brokedick bust. **** you, Scott Pioli. **** you so ****ing hard. Mitchell Schwartz, welcome to KC, you beautiful bastard. |
