Yep. Every time I acquire a new album or CD, I spend 10 minutes ripping it and 30 minutes correcting/formatting metadata.
I despair of ever coming close to getting my metadata right, what with 1300+ CDs ripped, and another 150Gb of stuff I've 'browsed.'

I can't even get around to cleaning up my itunes podcast library. Tons of stuff I've listened to already and don't need to see again.

Thank God for 5Tb of storage

JRiver does a pretty good job, though. Wish it did as well with my music as it does my DVRed TV. Soon as it's saved, it does as screenshot, and dl's obtains metadata with a synopsis and original air date that pops up on hover over screenshot.

Damn. Is that what media players are like on Windows? If I were stuck on that side I'd just use an old version of Winamp.

Hell, if OG Winamp would run on OS X I'd switch to it now.

Don't doubt it. The desktop UI is ugly and dated. You'd think something that pricey would be more polished. In the end, it's all about stability and speed in editing metadata if you have to. That's how the beautiful Bulk Rename Utility became one of my favorite utilities on any platform.
