But the Warriors hung tough against a very good Portland team without him. Maybe the blazers pull it off against golden state without curry. But they were good enough to keep it at least close. It's not a knock on curry. We're talking best on the game here. Trust me, I'm not a LeBron apologist by any stretch. But even if I don't like him that much, I can appreciate how much of a difference maker he is

Take Curry off GS and they are fighting for the 8th playoff spot (in a normal year). The Cavs without Lebron would still be a Top 3 seed in the East. You act like the Cavs are bad team, they have 2 other All Stars that are Top 5 at their positions as does GS but they play in a tougher conference.

You know what is interesting, looking back at the 2013 Cavs team (the one prior to Lebron coming that won 24 games), 3 of the players on that team are with GS now (Livingston, Speights, Varejao, + Luke Walton)

At least. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are tremendous two-way players and Kerr's system is the best in the league.

Except that the Cavs are 4-13 in games without Lebron. As a Cavs fan and a vocal Lebron critic, I'd gladly take Golden State's supporting cast 8 days a week over the Cavs'.

But to answer your question that I was strangely accused of "dodging,"I'd take Curry. I'm not a Lebron apologist. Curry is younger and I don't know how much gas Lebron has left in the tank. And Curry doesn't bring the drama that Lebron does. But that has nothing to do with them as a player. As a pure player if we're talking this year only, yeah, I'm taking "trying" Lebron.
