Staind National Anthem

Aaron Lewis lead singer for band Staind blows Star Spangled Banner at game 5 of World Series. Though he apologized profusely he did completely rip Christine Aguilara for botching Super Bowl National Anthem. Paybacks is a bitch.
You would think these supposed professionals might study a bit after accepting this honor instead of just winging it before 40,000 +. I bet old neck tattoo would be pissed if the artist misspelled whatever that thing on his neck means.

You obviously didn't read my post. I'm not spoiled. It's a matter of principle. I don't think anybody should have to "pledge" to their country. This reeks of Totalitarianism.

But fine, call me a dick. Hell, call me a hairy asshole. I am what I eat.

You missed my point.

If my wife and her family gathered around, held hands and said a prayer for someone, i guess i COULD refuse to hold anyone's hand, refuse to bow my head and say, "Hey guys, i don't believe in God, i believe in SCIENCE".

But then i'd be making the situation about me. Id' be acting like a dissrespectul douche just to make the statement that im a special snowflake that doesn't conform to popular opinion. You know, basically being a little self centered dickbag.

Kinda like refusing to place your hand over your heart or take your damn hat off.

Stop pretending like your signing your life over to the US or something. It's not that serious.

It's amazing that me quietly minding my own business and staying in my seat during the Pledge of Allegiance leads to such vitriol. That's kind of my point. I'm not trying to be a rebel, or piss off every guy in the room with an American Flag wallet. I'm simply exercising my right to not pledge any form of allegiance to any country. The only self-centered dickbags are the one who make a riot out of the situation by pumping out their chests and going on 20 minute diatribes about how not standing for a pledge is akin to teabagging a James Madison blowup doll.

Interesting. You say you aren't a rebel in one sentence and then follow it with a couple where you obviously view your lack of action as a form of rebellion.

I'd suggest you do a better job of putting thoughts together before typing them.

When a 100 people are standing up with there hand over their heart and you're sitting there alone with your arms crossed, yeah, you'll kinda stand out like a sore thumb.

Whatever your intentions might be, people will view you as a self serving asshole simply looking to be defiant.....because...well...no matter what you're excuse might be, that's REALLY what you're actually doing.

And for what reason, really? What does it matter?

Like i said, i don't believe in God. But i'll bow my head. What difference does it make if i do? Do i now have to go to Church every Sunday if i do?

Nope. It doesn't matter.

That's my point. It doesn't matter if you do or don't. So why make yourself look like an asshole? What repercussions do you face by simply going along with it?

I'm not doing it for the sake of rebellion. Nothing I said contradicted that notion. Some kids might say "I'm not going to stand for the pledge because I want to piss everybody off". That would be textbook rebellion. For me, it's more "let's get this crap over with so I can go back to getting through the morning". My intention in high school wasn't to piss off every double digit-IQ'ed jock. It was to mind my own business and quietly protest a 30 second tradition that I happen to respectfully disagree with.

I'd suggest you do a better job reading before typing up your often inept interpretation.

I said the whole thing reeks of totalitarianism. That's not why I refuse to stand and recite. Christ, are you thick? I said twice that it's a matter of principle. To get up and say "screw it, I'll go along to get along", would be extremely hypocritical.
