KANSAS CITY, Mo. - More than 100 teens converged on the Country Club Plaza Saturday night and created a ruckus for patrons and a lot of work for Kansas City police officers.

Stories like those about the plaza have been rolling in for the last year or longer. At one point there was a shooting and they have put a curfew in place

I remember years ago bannister mall area was thriving. Hypermart and all the other surrounding stores were very popular and always busy. Crime slowly strangled the area and people chose to go elsewhere. The whole place turned into a ghost town. Obviously Cerner is building there now but the question I pose is simple

There are a lot of options other than the plaza around KC so...

Will the Plaza die the same way the Bannister area did?

The Plaza is still packed every weekend i'd imagine that won't change but neither will the crime in this city until there's a new mayor who's focused on more than just the downtown development or airport.

Yeah but KC will get a new airport. Not because the people want it of course but because the airlines want it.

Maybe the Philippines president Duerte's method of vigilante justice is needed on these ****s. Start allowing these ****s who harm innocent people and destroy what was once a nice area to be shot without repercussions.

All it "needed" was a few light bulbs and a train system between terminals... And I actually think the TSA wanted it more than the airlines. Lord knows their central office types hated the shorter lines we enjoyed because we had a TSA checkpoint for ~every five gates.

Located at 47th and Wornall on the Plaza's northeast side, you still have time to eat there as they won't shut down until March 31.

The Country Club Plaza provided this statement:

"We would be incredibly sad to see Houston’s leave the Country Club Plaza after more than three decades. We have done all we can to convince the management to stay and we hope to continue our dialogue with that end in mind. In the event they decide to close, we extend our sincerest thanks for all they have added to the Plaza over the years. We wish them well."

46th and Warwick really isn't the Plaza. Lots of fear mongering going on. Yes shit happens on the plaza just like any heavy populated area in any city. I doubt Houstons closed because of crime.
