Worked for San Fran. Our offense should dwarf theirs.

Bullshit.

See the SF 49ers of 2011. One fumbled punt from the Super Bowl.

Ok, I understand. Yes, Gannon changed. He did however, display several of the traits I listed during his time in KC. Yes, maybe Cassel can. Maybe he'll live up to his 60M contract and Kenny Powers commercials. I doubt it.

Do I doubt that he can't be the QB of a Chiefs team that goes anywhere from 7-9 to 10-6 or 11-5? No. The way this team is built, there is no reason he shouldn't have some success.

Honestly, QB aside. What offense in the NFL is as versatile as the 2012 Chiefs should be?

He did beat a 49ers team that was without Harbaugh, Bowman, and several others. Yes the majority of the team is intact, but it is a very different team in regards to discipline and maturity.

Any QB with this talent should put up solid numbers and at the very least look average.

I think Cassel puts up numbers similar to the 2010 Cassel. With a few more INTs though.

Anything less is underachieving and not acceptable.

Speaking of the 49ers. I see this team as VERY similar to that 49er team last year. Defense might not be that good, but the offense is a tad better than theirs.

NO is the only team in terms of overall completeness that comes to mind at the moment. NE I suppose, but their running game is lacking compared to ours, even if Ridley/Veeren step up.

Do I wish that the Chiefs had a true Franchise QB? Absolutely. But do I think that great play calling and coaching can make Cassel look average or slightly above? Absolutely.

Is this the right staff? Only time will tell.

If you're saying we're gonna be the 49ers this year, you're basically saying we have one of the best defenses in football.

I can buy that.

I wouldn't try to sell it though...

Their receivers outside of Welker don't do not for me either. Lloyd is good, but will he produce? TE's and QB rock though.

You can't leave out QB though.

Cassel takes what should be a versatile attack and neuters the downfield passing game, and makes the running game worse because defenses can cheat up.

He's truly a bastard.

Come on, the 2011 49ers team was completely different from the 2010 team.

Singletary was a complete joke.

Definitely. The issue is, Gannon was a Franchise QB at that time. Cassel, most likely will not be. Definitely agree that he should look average or above at times with this team this year.
