Apparently I've been an admin here for 10 years. AMA I suppose.
Just out of curiosity, I looked at my account, and I was made an administrator on April 10th, 2008. Though I kind of stepped back on the mod duties for a few years, it's crazy to me that I've been trying to keep you guys from killing each other for over a decade.

Anyway, feel free to ask questions about the past 10 years as a mod, what it's like working for one of CP's most illustrious members, why Denver is an OK place despite the stench wafting over from the Broncos, or whatever.

Or don't. I could just ban people randomly instead, which might be about as fun.

It's a good question, really. I enjoy this place and like to think of myself as a contributor, but I'm not the funniest guy here, I'm not the best football mind here, etc. But I do think I have a decently good feel for how to structure things to foster the community and how to fix most stuff when it breaks. I guess in a way it's my way of giving back.

If there's any real enjoyment that comes from it, it's probably just from seeing all of the behind-the-scenes discussions about how to handle various situations. I kind of enjoy the problem-solving process even if it's sometimes difficult to tell what the best solution might be.

Right on. I think it would take a bit of community service type attitude to deal with all the shit mods do.

Eh, there are bad days here and there, but I kind of push back at the perception that it's a "thankless job" and that we deal with a lot of shit. It's true to some extent, but you're given a power position, which is at least a tiny bit fun, and it's not that bad if you don't take things personally.

March 11th (it's on the CP calendar). Might be tough for people to drop by on Facebook, though. I adopted a policy of "no CP people on Facebook unless I know them in real life" maybe 6-7 years ago, so not many will be able to find me.

Na, not really. I've really used the same username since middle school (so 25ish years ago). I have no idea why other than middle schoolers are weird, but a friend of mine started calling me "Matt Face." That eventually morphed into "The Face" and in internet world "DaFace." I've never really used anything else.
