Team Building 101: Don't Write Off 2023 Chiefs
Didn't see this podcast posted, may be worth the share:
Team Building 101: Don't Write Off 2023 Chiefs The Kansas City Chiefs' front office has made some mistakes recently that have negatively impacted their play in 2023. Despite this, Joe Banner suggests the Chiefs should not be written off to repeat as Super Bowl champions and offers suggestions for future improvement. Joe Banner is a former front office executive for the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns who was last in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons as a consultant in 2015. While in the NFL, Banner was part of an Eagles franchise that made a Super Bowl and played in four NFC Championship games. Link: https://www.the33rdteam.com/team-bui...topic%2Fsports |

Sure, the team could certainly do the Patriots and basically lean on the D and have the O score just enough to win. If the O simply just eliminates the turnovers we have a very good chance to at least make the SB if not win it.

Mahomes and Reid will have an extra gear in the playoffs. Trust that. Patrick Mahomes has only ever lost in the playoffs to Brady and what we can all agree was a fluke against Burrow and the Bengals in overtime. Protect the ball Pat and trust the defense.

Some weird analysis here. Basically saying we made a mistake by not paying Orlando Brown Jr and instead signing other guys at tackle. Really? Instead of OBJ and Wylie, we have Smith/Taylor and that's some big downgrade? Not seeing it. They obsess over this as a group for a couple of minutes.
This Joe Banner dude basically says our hopes are pinned to Andy Reid drawing up spectacular gameplans to attack the defenses we face in the playoffs. |

2018 Patriots are eerily similar to us. Except we have a better QB.

-JAG WR's bar one ( Edleman and Rice are the exceptions. Hogan was their Justin Watson.) -Elite defenses -Strong running game. (Patriots running game was stronger with Trent Brown and some capable RB's. However, Pacheco is a better RB than anything the Patriots had.) -Strong OL's overall. Thuney was on both lol. -QB's who are in the GOAT conversation. -Great kickers I think the Chiefs are clearly more explosive on offense for obvious reason but the Patriots were better at dinking and dunking. Brady was a check down master. It's honestly something Patrick may never have considering how much he loves to hold onto the ball and deep ball hunt. |

They literally put up point numbers if some of our better offensive teams as well. Does he forget the circus catches they made in both matchups that year? And he thinks the clown crew we have can make those plays?

Pats had three losses that year in which they only scored 10 points. That’s interesting.

3-5 on the road struggling in alot of those to score....then absolutely fist Sutton in the playoffs on the road. This after absolutely embarrassing his defense in the regular season matchup.
