Rick Pitino fired
Rick Pitino reportedly fired by Louisville in wake of federal corruption case

Pitino’s attorney, Steve Pence, told the Louisville Courier-Journal that the coach had been placed on administrative leave Wednesday and that he had been “effectively fired.” Pitino’s contract says he must be given 10 days’ notice of his termination, which only can be decided by a vote of the Louisville athletic department’s Board of Directors, and that Pitino must be allowed to “present evidence” in his defense over that 10-day span.

I think that college hoops, and the AAU feeder system, is probably more corrupt. It really lends itself to these crooked AAU coach/parasites from the hood taking money to feed their kids into certain college hoops programs. I'm sure it's like that everywhere, but Arkansas has been dealing with this shit for a long time with a ton of local, Little Rock, talent constantly ending up in other schools due to local AAU corruption.

It probably doesn't have the organized crime angle of boxing or the crazy entrenched doping culture of cycling, but it's a more widespread and decentralized form of corruption that's built into the very system that feeds recruits into the game.
