Bowe on Alex Smith

Kind of an interesting piece from Bowe when asked about Alex Smith. From a Teicher article in the Star...

Quote:
Bowe may improve merely by playing with Smith, who could become the best passer Bowe has played with the moment Smith walks into the huddle. The list of Chiefs quarterbacks to throw to Bowe includes Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen, Matt Cassel, Tyler Palko and Brady Quinn.

“I can’t say that,’’ Bowe said. “I haven’t caught a pass from him yet. I’m sure as time goes down and the chemistry (unfolds), I’ll let you guys say that. Great player. After that, when the weeks go by, I’ll be able to tell you a little more. As a football player and a leader, that’s who you want at the position.

“It’s another quarterback. My job is to catch the ball no matter who’s throwing it. Now I have somebody that actually has a name for himself, has proved himself. I’m sure that will make it easier, but like I said, I haven’t caught a pass from him yet.’’

Kind of a stupid ****ing question to ask him considering it will be 1 1/2 months before they can even practice together.

I thought they were just allowed to use facilities. But scheduled practices aren't until. May.

I'm pretty sure if they wanted to throw the ball around they could.

From the way Reid sounded, they went through the philosophies and some of the things in the playbook today for the guys to study tonight. Sounds like tomorrow they are going tp be able to transfer some of that to the field. Running the pass plays and so forth with no defense type things.

It should be re-played on Total Access which starts in about 20 minutes.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Bowe was not referring to catching passes in a game of catch in the back yard.

i kind of took it as he is not willing to call Alex Smith a great player yet. If the media wants to, fine. But Bowe is not going to until he has been on the field with him.

Not a ringing endorsement IMO.

This is kind of how I took it. I don't think Bowe is over exited if that is what the media was trying to get at. Just another quarterback now give the D Bowe Show the damn ball.

Hardly a ringing endorsement, is it?

If we had acquired Rodgers or Brees, Bowe would be jumping out of his skin to tall everyone how fantastic it was.
