How about accountibility Clark?

Its time that we see our owner stand up and get back involved. How long is he going to let Reid take this team and go full Herm with it? Will Clark step up and do something or will he sit back and rake it in knowing 9-7 will keep the fans more than happy?

Its becoming glaringly obvious that Reid and Smith are not the answer (which anybody with the IQ of a turnip knew it from the onset) for this franchise. Reid is who he is and he isn't going to change for a league that is changing weekly.

So CP, how much longer does Reid have here in KC?

You can say his hiring decisions haven't worked out even though most of us were happy with all of them at the time, but to sit there and say he doesn't care and never does anything is ignorant at best.

I think Clark cares but he is just highly incompetent.

The Hunts deserve a share of the blame for creating an atmosphere that places too much of an emphasis on "respectability," which makes it hard for a GM to feel comfortable drafting and developing a young QB.

"Restoring the roar" was Priority No. 1 for John Dorsey in Year 1. Part of that direction certainly came from ownership. That's why they overpaid for a slap-dick game manager instead of starting fresh at the position (or bringing in a slightly less good game manager).

I wont argue that. He certainly does have his flaws. But the guy has paid a lot of money and has been trying to bring in who he and most of us agreed were the best minds in the game to turn things around. He wants to win.

This.

The Seahawks didn't even exist when the Chiefs last won the big one.

He wants to win the way Lamar did.

It should be no shocker that there's no difference between what Pioli did in 2009 and what Dorsey/Reid did in 2013.

Neither of those guys would have been hired by Clark if they said "We believe in drafting a QB highly in the draft."

And you may ask yourself, 'why another retread 49ers qb'??

And you may ask yourself, 'why another 1st round tackle'??

And then you say to yourself, 'I've seen this shitshow before'

And then you say to yourself, 'it's the same as it ever was...'

Same as it ever was.

As the days go by, water flowing on the ground...

I feel like Clark plays a more prominent role in the Chiefs being handcuffed to these shitty, overpaid QB's than people may think... It is his money that is being wasted on them...he likely doesn't want to allow his overpaid pieces of shit not pan out... For it would be an indicator of his incompetence and an admittance of a huge mistake. So he just digs deeper holes for himself.

Clark Hunt is the WORST problem associated with the Chiefs. I believe he is ****ing stubborn...and stupid as hell when it comes to talent evaluation in multiple facets (not just the players).

And when Pioli was fired, wasn't there a rumor that the members of the Hunt family all took a vote to decide if Pioli should be fired, and wasn't Clark the one and only vote for "no?" I swear I read that somewhere.

I don't think it's a matter of wanting to win as much as it is having the wrong perspective on how to win.

We believe you become championship-caliber when you draft and develop your own QB's to be the leader of the franchise. Clark and the Hunt Family believe that you take "proven commodities" or safer options at QB.

Carl Peterson: Steve Bono, Elvis Grbac, Rich Gannon, Joe Montana
Scott Pioli: Matt Cassel
John Dorsey: Alex Smith

Three different GM's, a myriad of different coaches/coordinators, with two things that have never changed in all that time:

Same ownership, same re-tread QB's.

Oh yeah, and same frustrating results.

It happened near the end of the disastrous 2012 Chiefs season. Whether the moment came during a face-to-face meeting or over a conference call isn’t known. But the key members of the Hunt Family football franchise took a vote.

The voters numbered six, including Lamar Jr., Sharron, Clark and Daniel Hunt – all four of the team’s owners. Also part of the moment was Lee Derrough, former president & CEO of Hunt Midwest Enterprises and now a trustee of the Lamar Hunt and family interests in Kansas City. The sixth person involved was team president Mark Donovan.

The subject was the future of Scott Pioli as the franchise’s general manager. How much discussion, if any, that went on is not clear. What is known is that a vote was taken on whether to keep Pioli, or fire him after four years in charge of the Chiefs.

The vote was 5-1, in favor of dumping Pioli. The only vote in his favor came from Clark Hunt.
