MMQB: Dorsey, Browns rumored to be drafting Josh Allen at #1

From https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/04/01/jo...mqb-peter-king :

Quote:
FOD (Friend of Dorsey) thinks Browns will go Allen-Saquon at 1 and 4. What would an April MMQB be without another draft rumor?! This friend of Cleveland GM John Dorsey believes he’ll go Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen over Sam Darnold with the first overall pick, keep the fourth pick, and take Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. “I would be surprised if he traded down,” FOD told me. “This would be his chance to take his two offensive cornerstones for the next eight or 10 years.” The most interesting thing there? That FOD thinks Dorsey will not trade. I think that’s great. Cleveland’s been very good at trading and stockpiling, and not very good at drafting, in the last few years. I hope Dorsey’s more about the (relatively) sure things instead of Cleveland leading the league in draft picks.
For what it’s worth...

This all day long if I was Dorsey.

If it were me, I'd draft Darnold.
Trade the 4th over all pick to the highest bidder.

All I want is picks in the 2018 draft and their current 1st rounder.

I imagine I'm still going to be able to land Barkley, a top TB, S, or CB. Hell take the effin guard.

How do you lose doing this?

Me personally....I would take a QB at #1, Chubb at #4 and then trade back into the bottom of the 1st for a guy like Guice if he's somehow there.

What?

No and no

Lane Johnson would be the 1st OT taken....and Fisher would not be a top 5 pick

Leveon Bell

Deandre Hopkins

Travis Frederick

Darius Slay

Ezekial Ansah

Not necessarily in that order but Fisher would be the 3rd or maybe 4th O lineman taken....15th-20th overall if we're talking pure talent.

Hell, he isn't even as good of a player as Travis Kelce who was selected 2 rounds later.

I think you could also argue Kyle Long and Larry Warford are better than Fisher.

No one would take a center with a top 10 pick, no one. An above average LT is worth more than a great center.

And for the record Leveon Bell is a bitch and his stupid shit alone isn't helpful.

Rosen is this year's trubiski. He's the better pick.

What's less likely - hitting a franchise QB in the draft or a RB having peak production for 8 to 10 years?
Flip side is: what's more likely, finding a great QB later in the draft or a great RB?

I agree on Darnold. I would try and scare Denver (Your trading down to a team who wants to leap frog them)in giving up a pick or two to move up 1 spot and gamble Chubb is not who they are moving up to get.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I think my main point was muddled in my phrasing. I would never (NEVER) expect a RB to last a decade. Unless you team is ready to compete for a super bowl, I wouldn't touch a RB in the top 5.

Draft them, use them until their rookie deal is done, and let them walk.

I’d be willing to move back to the teens for next years first and maybe a third this year that I can use to move up with if I want
