Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Damn. Pats fans STILL don't think their team has ever cheated...that's mind bogglingly stupid.

They stole the balls from the refs ON CAMERA.

Why did they do that, if it wasn't to alter them?

Why call the guy who did it "the deflater"?

You have to be a straight up moron to think nothing happened.

Pretty clear what the Brady team will do now. They will play the time table card. They have 90 days to file the SC petition and will wait to do so at the last minute before the season starts and ask for the stay so he can play. By the time the SC makes a decision season could be over.

If that judge gives him a stay knowing the SC won't consider the case then the system is even more broken than we thought.

I know that the cold air will reduce air pressure because it happens in car tires for certain but not two hours after you put them at the proper pressure. I don't see them filling up footballs at half time in Green Bay or Buffalo. That playoff game in Minnesota was cold as it gets for football and they didn't there but you want us to believe it happened in NE. Whatever.

A dozen or more Ph.D scientists say you're wrong, but you keep your "car tire" theory.

Entire point is that the NFL never tested footballs before, and didn't even know the ideal gas law existed.

On and on it goes. Thsi argument has been hashed and rehashed endlessly. You rely on whatever you want to convince you Brady is guilty, AND that he deserves an unprecedented suspension of four games for an equipment violation even though nobody had ever been suspended for a single second before. Whatever makes you happy.

No matter how you want to spin it, your theories regarding fixed vessel dont' really hold up when people have tested the deflation USING ACTUAL FOOTBALLS.

And I find it hard you can believe that all these brilliant scientists didn't think of the fact that a football isn't a steel box. However you want to slice it, waaaay too many scientists have imploded the Deflategate findings of the bought-and-paid-for experts hired by the NFL to back their way into their predetermined decision that Brady was guilty.

In this corner: MagicHef, a guy on ChiefsPlanet, who says things on ChiefsPlanet.

In that corner, 21 Ph.D. scientists from top colleges all around the country who felt so strongly about this that they filed an amicus curaie brief before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/05/2...ing-tom-brady/

Quote:
Tuesday’s filing came from 21 professors — John J. Leonard, Arup K. Chakraborty, Christopher E. Dames, Ryan M. Eustice, Jack Feinberg, Daniel Frey, Ahmed Ghoniem, David Goldhaber-Gordon, Douglas Hart, Anette (Peko) Hosoi, Guoquan Huang, Rebecca Kramer, Vijay Kumar, John H. Lienhard, Joel Moore, Michael J. Naughton, Lian Shen, Gaurav S. Sukhatme, David Wallace, Amos Winter and Maria C. Yang — and was filed by Eric Delinsky, who is a big-time partner at Zuckerman Spaeder in Washington D.C.

The professors come from all over the country –MIT, Stanford, Penn, the University of Michigan, Boston College, Purdue University, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Delaware, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Southern California. The brief noted that the professors “have not sought or received any compensation in connection with the proposed brief” and that “they submit it out of professional conviction that scientific principles be explained and put to fair use.”

In the brief, the professors chastise the NFL’s “subjective assumptions” and the “lack of any scientific proof” of ball deflation.

“Although sensationalized in the press, it was no surprise to any scientist that the Patriots’ footballs lost pressure during the AFC Championship,” the report began. “As the league’s reports recognize, so-called ‘deflation’ happens naturally when any closed vessel, such as a football, moves from a warm environment to a cold one. This is not tampering. It is science. And it pervades the NFL. Games routinely are played with footballs that fall below the league’s minimum pressure requirement.”

Yea, because your equipment manage got the admitted nickname of deflator because he was a on a ****ing diet.

1) Equipment manager has the nickname 'The Deflator'

2) No way in hell he got that nickname for any other reason than deflating footballs

3) No way an equipment manager removes air or changes the footballs in anyway without approval from QB, especially a HoF level QB like Brady.

Add those 3 things up and you get: Brady knew about the footballs being altered and is a cheating, lying bitch who didn't have the guts to take responsibility so this entire mess wouldn't happen.

Now if you want to pretend, like so many other NE idiots, that the equipment got the nickname for some other bullshit reason then go ahead. You're lying to yourself and to everyone else.

No. At first it was about NFL types sticking it to the Patriots, whom they hate, backed by owners who either hate them or thought something fishy was going on (or both). Ultimately, however, it was nothing more than another chapter in the endless power struggle between the NFL and the NFLPA.

At the end, it was about nothing more than the NFL's need to reaffirm Goodell's completely unlimited authority. Authority the NFLPA stupidly gave him, and which will be the central issue in the strike/lockout that will come in 2021.

I doubt there is a lock out. Most players can't afford it and the owners can, that's why they agreed to the CBA they have now. Too many players live above their pay checks to not get paid. Very few can just go with out the money.

What this is actually about is Brady not taking responsibility for his actions. He cheated, got caught, and doesn't wan't to pay the penalty because he doesn't think the rules apply to him.

Yet another debate on this isn't terribly interesting. 62 pages of it is more than enough.

See y'all at the AFCCG.
