Looks like I get to race Hines Ward
During last year's Ironman triathlon World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Hines Ward announced that he would be training to do that race in 2013. He recently released his schedule of "tune-up" races for the year, and it looks like I'm going to get a chance to race him at Ironman 70.3 Kansas.
Quote:
He's only done one short race so far, but unless he makes enormous strides, I think I have a shot at beating him. We're both pretty bad swimmers. He'll probably beat me up on the bike, but I should put a lot of time into him on the run. He's one age group older than me, but we'll probably start within 10 minutes of each other. I'll probably see him on the course at least a few times. I'm already mentally preparing for the dirty crackback I'll inevitably take on the run course. |

Get Ray Lewis to run it with you and maybe he'll try to cheap shot him across the middle. |

I have a buddy of mine that decided to shoot a personal documentary film called 34 vs. 12 where he travels back to Hawaii to compete against his 12 year old self in feats of strength and endurance. I think his dad had found his old Presidential fitness scores and his times from a marathon he had run as a kid.
I sent him this link and threw down the gauntlet. Good luck to ya! |

Absolutely not. I'm way more Elaine Benes than Fred Astaire.

He'll be crossing the finish line with a big smile on his face and you'll be at Mile 4 of the Marathon lying on the side of the road with a broken jaw.

You're pretty ambitious for a 300 pound amputee.
