Rest of our schedule looks very favorable

Broncos
@Browns
Cardinals
Rams-Mexico
@Raiders
Ravens
Chargers
@Seahawks
Raiders

Quick analysis:
-3 of those teams have a winning record.
-Chargers come to Arrowhead on a short week (big disadvantage for them).
-Raiders will probably give up by week 17.

Hard to see us go any worse than 13-3 with this schedule.

As an AFC team, the Chiefs DO NOT want to finish 13-3. Here is a list of the 13-3 teams over the last 25 years, which encompasses the era of modern free agency.

2017 - Steelers lost first game at home after bye. Patriots lost Super Bowl.
2013 - Broncos lost in the Super Bowl.
2012 - Broncos lost first game at home after bye.
2011 - Patriots lost Super Bowl.
2009 - Chargers lost first game at home after bye.
2008 - Titans lost first game at home after bye.
2007 - Colts lost first game at home after bye.
2006 - Ravens lost first game at home after bye.
2005 - Broncos lost AFC Championship.
2003 - Chiefs lost first game at home after bye.
2005 - Steelers lost AFC Championship.
2000 - Titans lost first game at home after bye.
1999 - Colts lost first game at home after bye (to the 13-3 Titans). Titans lost Super Bowl.
1997 - Chiefs lost first game at home after bye.
1996 - Broncos lost first game at home after bye.
1995 - Chiefs lost first game at home after bye.
You're making patterns out of completely unrelated events. I think there is a current thread about lottery tickets that has some info on the Gambler's Fallacy.

Just to test this theory, let's say I just flipped a coin and it landed Tails 6 consecutive times. What would you bet on for the next flip and why?

It's not our schedule that matters it's NE's
We need NE to lose and theirs is easy. Hobbled up Rogers wont beat them. We need Vikes and Steelers to man the hell up and help us. We needed the tie breaker and didn't get it. Would have been better to lose to Denver. That can be over came but this season may unfold to where we have the same record with NE and that will suck.

I'm still pretty cherry to scheduling.. Is there a formula for how they decide who gets the Saturday games in the postseason, or is it just based on what the league will think get the most views?

Something absolutely connects all of these games. Just because you can't determine the cause doesn't mean there isn't one.

Then please explain it for the rest of us.

I'm extremely superstitious as well. Being a chief fan does that to you. But please, explain it, and not "just because".

I'm not superstitious. I don't believe in curses.

But when something happens over and over and over and over, that's a trend. Period. Just because it is unexplained doesn't make it fantasy. That's like saying there's no such thing as wind just because you can't actually see it.

It's not the Texans' schedule (that shit is insulting), but we should win 12 at a minimum.

You're still equating 25 years of results to random chance.

It isn't random chance. It can't be random chance.

It has happened. I believe Mahomes can break any curse.

Nevermind, I did not realize you were only referring to the AFC.
