Book on how to increase lottery chances......

So this guy at my work bought this book that claims to help you increase your odds of winning the lottery (LOL). I told him he's a ****ing moron but he just won't listen. He keeps going back to "Well the guy who wrote the book WON 7 JACKPOTS!" I keep saying yes, because he got lucky one time and won a nearly 1 million dollar jackpot, and since then has reinvested a shit ton of that into the ****ing lottery.

Anyway, he bought this ****ing book, which is more like a pamphlet, and all he got out of it was "Play numbers that have never won before, or haven't hit in a long time". I said "......good luck with that, and it won't make a difference because the lottery has no memory". So he found some site that has all the pas winning lottery numbers from 1997 to present, and now is trying to figure out a way to pick something besides those numbers.

In Florida, you can keep your identity private and still claim the money.

Your odds stay the same per ticket.

The odds of winning are slim. For the Mega Millions, they're 1 in 302,575,350. For Powerball, the odds are 1 in 292,201,338.

You will have 5 chances over 1 chance- but each ticket is the same odds. Your odds don't go up by buying more tickets.

Probability seems like a real bitch for most people's brains.

But 1 ticket vs 10 doesn't really increase your odds.

I amazes me that people still don't understand probability and odds in very simple forms.

But 1 ticket. Save the rest for something else.

Can I win, please? I never win anything like this. It's my turn!

Now if I only had a dollar to play it, FTR, I stopped playing the lottery years ago because of never winning!

I meeaaaann... TECHNICALLY, it does increase your odds. The increased odds are still so infinitesimal, it doesn't really matter, though.

Absolutely. I tend to play the local AZ lottery when mega and powerball jackpots are huge. Nobody will GAF about my million dollar prize

Buying 10 tickets instead of 1 ticket does increase your odds. Each ticket has the same odds but overall your chances improved.

But, This ^^^^, infinitesimal. Just buy one and hope. Dont spend "real" money on these odds.

Was in a gas station getting some water and these people who looked like they didn't have a ****ing nickel were buying $10-$20 worth of tickets.

Give me your opinion ?

Do you think it is best to buy 10 $1 tickets or 1 ticket for $ 10 that has 10 sets of numbers on it.

There are a lot of people that are superstitious about this!

They are insane. If it has not worked yet, no reason to be superstitious.
