Would You Welcome the Chiefs Leaving to Rid Yourself of the Hunts?

Bill Simmons' column on Daniel Snyder made me think about this again.

Over the last forty years there have been two consistent themes with the Chiefs: futility and the Hunt family.

If you were presented with the option of the Chiefs leaving for LA and getting a new franchise in Kansas City in 2018 would you take that deal, or is your loyalty to the Chiefs alone too great?

Agree to disagree. Too much standing around in football, games are too long. Don't get me wrong, I love football...but if I had to chose my favorite sports to watch it would be 1) Basketball 2) Football tied with Baseball ...19) Soccer

If winning the SB is your only measure of success you are going to be disappointed a lot, no matter what team you are a "fan" of. That is why you are such a miserable ****.

How about the expectation of getting to the SB? Too much to expect? I guess so! How about the AFC Championship? To much to expect one in 45 years? I know the latter means we're in the SB, but I hope you get my point!

I'm not lost on your point, but 45 years speaks volumes and need to be answered without a bunch of political coach-speak. And last, I don't need to call you a "Hunt's dick sucking ****" to try to make my argument seem more valid.

I don't understand the jab at me, but you've always been a pompous douche so I guess that's par for your course.
That's just a wildly ignorant statement. It's a lazy argument recycled from the mid-90's. The truth is that the influx of European talent has made the NBA deeper and better than ever. The influence of European basketball helped create the stretch four and brought back the importance of passing and movement without the ball. NBA offenses in this decade are balletic compared to the basketball of the mid-90s, which focused entirely upon clearing out one side of the floor so that the star could iso against his man.

Defenders are more athletic and skilled and don't rely on mugging the ball-handler to get stops, and everyone on the court is a superior shooter to 10-20 years ago.

What makes the post even more ironic is that it occurs on a forum dedicated to a professional football team, given that the quality of play in the NFL is jaw-droppingly bad right now.

You know it almost takes skill and effort to not win anything in the post season for as long as the Chiefs have been shut out.

I expect the owner has to put in endless hours at the office (2-3 a week) keeping the motor so finely tuned and the gears lubed. It's not easy counting all the free money the league sends to their bank accounts (one train load at a time).

No

It'd be great to have a brand new team, with new colors, unis, helmets. Possibly a new stadium. A new regime. Building completely from scratch. It'd be interesting to "be there from the beginning."

But

There's no guarantee it would lead to any more success than we've had. Jacksonville? Carolina? Cleveland? Houston? One Super Bowl appearance between them (By the way, it was with a retread game manager at quarterback).

Finally, if it did produce a winner, we would've sold our souls for it. We would have become no better than the fair weather fans we deride. **** St Louis fans, who got a team, and like 5 minutes later got a Super Bowl win. **** Colorado Avalanche fans, for the same reason. **** fans of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Marlins. This shit we are/have been going through will make the championship (if/when we get it) that much sweeter.

I don't see it that way.

Does anyone consider Cleveland fans unloyal?

If a new team were to start in KC and win a Championship, it would be just as hard-earned as if the Chiefs won it.

The Cleveland deal is a little different, as they were always loyal, and had their team taken from them. But I don't think it's unreasonable to disagree with how I view the situation. That just happens to be how I see it.
