Which three players in the NFL would you build a franchise around?

You can pick any three players currently in the NFL. Salary Cap space not being an issue, who would you choose?

I'd be in win now mode, and I'd go with Aaron Rodgers, Julio Jones, and Von Miller.

If you start from scratch, you start with a QB ... find an elite one of those, you're gold.

And then you try and accumulate as many pass rushers as humanly possible while trying to get lucky and snag a few good OL ...

Everything else? It's just so scheme dependent. Look at the Pats. You think Edelman, Hogan and Amendola are great on other squads? Nah. The Pats outscheme everyone and 2nd place isn't even in the same universe.
Scheme means a ton, I'd agree.

I'm just saying, I think an elite CB has as much value as an elite LT.

I would never build around a running back ... but if I had to choose 1, it's David Johnson. Dude is Marcus Allen with the passing game chops of Marshall Faulk.

I agree, was just saying I think CB should be on the list.

QB>pass rusher>LT=CB. I think those are the most important positions in football. It's tough to just plug any guy in those spots and consistently succeed. After those positions it basically comes down to philosophy and team composition.

I think I'd rank it like this :

QB
HUGE GAP
RUSH BACKER
OT
TYREEK HILL
CB (only 1 needs to be great)
Maybe a STUD MLB like DJ or Kuechly
Punter
Long Snapper
WR

ok I was joking towards the end - and I kind of lost interest

I'd be ok with a trio of Russel / Von and Kuechly. Kuechly is like a LB'er Berry. He's that kind of hybrid just in reverse. As in, Berry is a safety who can play a pretty good box and pass as a linebacker of sorts ... while Kuechly is a linebacker who runs a pretty mean coverage ... and could pass as a safety of sorts.

...I just blew my own mind

So I really struggled this year when people were giving Andy Luck ANOTHER pass for having a shitty line ... but then I'd watch Russell and do the same for him.

So I hate making excuses for elite QB's ....

But GOOD ****ING LORD ... that offensive line in Seattle was HORRIBLE this year.
Andrew luck doesn't have the luxury of throwing 4 picks in a playoff game or any game really and still winning. Put him in Seattle and he'd have the same or even more success than Wilson has had.
