FOX Secures Thursday Night Football for Five Years

FOX just outbid CBS and NBC to dump a ton of money on the NFL for TNF. $3.3B over 5 years.

The games will still be weeks 4 through 15, not including Thanksgiving, they will still be simulcast on NFL Network, and they don't include streaming rights so the NFL can still try to go to Amazon or Yahoo or whoever for streaming rights for TNF.

NBC and CBS paid $900 million to broadcast Thursday Night games in 2016 and 2016 ($450 million per year).

Fox is paying $660 million per year, which is a 32% increase in revenues, which means the salary cap just received another big bump.

The NFL is still King.

And this is in addition to the 5 year, $500 million per year deal that Verizon did with the NFL.

The Salary Cap is going to take a huge jump this season, which will really benefit the Chiefs.

Given their ability to predict terrible matchups later in the season between teams that have no chance at making the playoffs, I would be watching to see which games are TNF later in the season and make bets that one, or both, of those teams won't be going to the playoffs.
