I usually go to Firestone and have them do a Synthetic Kendall Blend on my 03' Suburban with 217k Miles - every 3k-5k miles - I try to keep it closer to 3k because of the high mileage - it leaks some oil out the rear main too but not too bad really
I also use the Firestone Synthetic Blend on the 07 Silverado with 84k miles - no complaints so far. I did just buy a 03' SAAB with 104k miles and Plan to only use Mobil 1 Synthetic as that is what is suggested when I pop the hood. Any complaints with my plan? |

When I had my Silverado, I read quite a bit how it was easy to burn up the fuel pump by consistently running under a quarter tank so I always filled it when it got to a quarter. I haven't read that it's an issue with my Sube so I generally run it 'til the fuel light comes on and then fill it.

You have no idea, it's annoying as **** when it happens, especially if I have to go on to a busy street to get to a gas station. I know better than to let it get that low but sometimes I get busy and don't pay attention and it stings me.

Damn! I owned an Audi 5 years back and cannot believe this pic! ...My audi was constantly in the shop and the transmission didn't make it to 80k+ miles. Hard to believe the driver went that long without any issues!?!?!?

Had no idea you shouldn't run gas tank near empty for that reason on fuel pump. I never let mine get below 1/4 anyway but that's because of my OCD.

My grandpa and dad always told me that it is easier to keep the top half of the tank full rather than both halves..they said so you don't have to pay as much each fill up and you won't burn up your fuel pump
