Help Me Pick the Next Blowfish Mobile!

Well, Mr. Jeep is on his last legs. Time to find a new ride. I've driven Jeep Grand Cherokees since 1993. My current is a 2002 with 248,000 miles, and stuff keeps breaking, so time to bail out.

Looking to spend around $25 Grand, and think I can do a Jeep Grand that's maybe 2 or 3 years old for that.

My brother in law has a Ford Edge and really likes it. Don't know if I can swing a brand new car, even thought the financing would be much lower than used.

Any advice as to SUV models I should look at? I don't care about car color, I'm not towing anything, all I care about is will it go through the snow (4x4 or AWD) and I'd like to get heated seats this time.

What say you?

And, for you CPers who work for car dealers, you can PM me if you like, as long as you're in the KC Area, I'll consider what you have to say.

The last car my wife and I bought was from a CPer and it was a very satisfactory transaction.

Can you help a brother out???

Can't wait for the "10 things" threads this season. Gblowfish telling us about his tailgating experiences with his life partner.

Seriously though, congrats on the new wheels. I know next to nothing about Subarus, but they seem to come highly recommended on here so it sounds like you've made a good choice.

Just keep the puzzle lock bit in the car
Got the mats, it already had the locking lugnuts on it. So we're all good.

Outbacks are nice vehicles.

Don't worry, it's the Forester that you would see carting some obese middle-aged women to an Indigo Girls show.

I love Jeeps but the Grand Cherokee has been a victim of its own popularity. The new ones, even for a Laredo 4x4, are like $35,000, and with nice things inside are closer to $40 grr.

The Cherokee, which is smaller, is not nearly as nice. They make a Patriot, which is a piece of crap, and a Liberty, which is kind of like a Subaru Forrester.

If I wanted a Jeep GC, I would have had to bought one 3 or 4 years old, with probably 30,000 miles or more, would have paid about the same, around $30,000, and the bank loan would have been around 5 or 6 percent, because it's used. I got 1.49% for 48 months on the Subaru, although I had to put $5000 down (cash and trade) to get a manageable monthly car payment for four years.

Needless to say, I'm very motivated at work today to sell stuff. Gots bills to pay, man.

Hey, if any of you guys are thinking about buying Subaru here in KC, PM me, and I'll hook you up with my sales guy. If you end up buying a car, they'll pay me $100 which I'll split 50-50 with you.

They have not made the liberty in a few years. It was just replaced by the new Cherokee which I agree is fugly as hell.

30k would have gotten you a Wrangler Unlimited Sport. But if you are happy with your unshaved-vagina-mobile that is OK.

Not lesbian at all. Though it may attract lesbians, which is nice.

That looks really nice. How's the drive?

Ignore Lewdog's bumper sticker advise.

Looks nice. Good color.

I have heard good things about Subarus. Know someone who has 2. Both are around 2000 and running well.

Here is my new ride.

Picking it up tomorrow.
