Xbone vs PS4?

Need quick advice. After i take off from work here today im going to to pick up a new gaming system for my 10 y/o son's B-day.

I'm mostly a PC gamer and haven't really paid much attention to the new consoles. For the longest time i've only let him play kids games such as Mine Craft and Little Big Planet on our PS3. Recently i've allowed him to get into the CoD series and he's just been obsessed now.

If i use it, i'll mostly be using it for Madden and Racing.

So, what do i need to know?

I've got the PS4 that the kids don't use and they still prefer the Wii.

Did get a couple of games around Christmas and it turns out I've lost a step or two on COD.

to each his own. It's mainly only used for weapon switches, etc. but there are sometimes that it's nice to have. Playing Street fighter for example just doesn't feel right without a D-pad(although the new Street fighter sucks, just got it for free with Gold).

I think everyone has a bit of a story of how they came up and what drew them to their console to begin with. Once your in a PS or XB camp, I think most people stay there. Friends, familiarity, etc. Backwards Compatibility to play old games on existing console is also big because it gives a reason to stay.

xbox controller >PS controller. I have a pS4, but if i had the option to use an Xbox controller on my PS4. I'd take that in a heartbeat and never look back. Then again, i dont even use my PS4. PC master race is just way better now days!

Where is the best place to buy Xbox live? I just received a notice that I'm going to start getting a $10 monthly bill from them. I think I paid around $40 for it last year.

Here's one for $47 for a year. If you keep your eyes on Slickdeals they commonly have deals in the $40 range or lower.

You can try this and might get lucky since you are expiring. Sounds like they are targeting people through Microsoft so you could get it for $36.

Thanks, they are charging me $60. I rarely use it, so I'm canceling my auto renew. Maybe I'll get a better offer in a month.

lol, I used to be that way. Now I'm used to the 360/xbone size. I just set my original xbox up for the kids since it was just boxed up. Really wish they'd make those games backwards compatible so I could play on the new system.
