Parents to Play-Doh: Penis-shaped toy 'completely ruined' Christmas
Play-Doh is pulling a toy used in a popular playset for children after parents barraged the company's Facebook page with complaints claiming the toy is shaped like a penis.
Images and complaints about the toy, included in the company's Sweet Shoppe Cake Mountain Playset, flooded social media after parents gifted the set to their children during the Christmas holidays. "This is NOT okay," Jennifer Turner said in a post deleted from Play-Doh's Facebook page, according to Twitter user El Clarko. Turner goes on to say that the toy "completely ruined" her family's Christmas celebrations. Social media managers for the company's Facebook page began deleting complaints about the toy, Buzzfeed reported. After days of social media onslaught, Play-Doh said in a Facebook post Tuesday it would remove the "tool" from the set. "We have heard some consumer feedback about the extruder tool in the Play-Doh Cake Mountain playset and are in the process of updating all future Play-Doh products with a different tool," Play-Doh said. "Should any consumer want a replacement extruder for this item, they can contact Hasbro's Customer Service Department at 800-327-8264." Some felt the design didn't look anything like a penis. "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar?" Alexandra Franco posted Tuesday. http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/loc...ly-5985466.php |
