That'd work unless he still thinks he deserves starting LT money.

EDIT: Also this:

If you don't want to compare Albert to some of the greatest OTs of all time, that's OK.

Chad Clifton: starter at age 34
Flozell Adams: starter at age 34
John Alt: starter at age 34
Tra Thomas: starter at age 34

Jordan Gross is 32 and will be the Panthers starting LT this year.

No reason Albert cannot be an effective player into his mid 30s, barring injury.
****ing dumb.

JFC, you are so ****ing full of shit these days.

The top three guys you listed are HALL OF FAME PLAYERS.

They're NOT Brendon Albert.

John Alt has serious back issues and was fairly ineffective his last two seasons. He was replaced by a platoon of Irv Eatman and Ricky Siglar, two guys that couldn't demand $6 million a year today, let alone, $11 million a year.

Cool...he can play the next 3 years at left tackle.

Then he goes to guard, right tackle or gets cut.

I agree.

That was why I listed alternatives.

There are lots and lots of examples of OTs who played well into their 30s.

Albert could certainly be one.

Why? The Chiefs just drafted a guy at 1.1 that should be starting at left tackle from Day One, IMO. I think it's a travesty how Dorsey and Reid have dealt with this thing but whatever.

But more importantly, why meet Albert's contract demands when he's not worthy of them? Why meet them, then move him to a lessor position?

We all complain about taking Fisher at #1, but the reality of it is, is that he was probably the best choice anyway. As we always do, we were just really, really unlucky. If we had the #1 pick a year before....... I don't even want to think about it......

Played? Sure. Name the oldest left tackle in the league, today.

And you're speculating about Albert.

Jordan Gross, 33 years old when the season starts.

Albert could play until then.

We're BOTH speculating, Dane. You're just choosing to be negative about his future, because THE CHIEFS DID A THING AND IT MUST BE RIGHT, SAYS HOMER DANE.

There was no other choice. Fisher is more physical and developed than Jeockel. Jordan was a huge reach. He's obviously more advanced than Johnson. Warmack and Cooper would have been gigantic reaches.

The Chiefs just so happened to have the first overall draft choice in a year devoid of skill position players.

FWIW, it just happened in the NBA as well. Shit happens.

Albert's never been as good as Jordan Gross in his entire career and you can damn sure bet that Carolina would love to replace him, asap.

How am I a "Homer" when I think that Albert's value is overstated?

Uh, YOU are the Homer in this situation, Homer.

I'm telling YOU the guy is AVERAGE and not worthy of $10 million per, and YOU are stating otherwise.

HOMER.

Last two years, only 4 sacks allowed.

Albert and Gross had almost identical PFF ratings last season and the year prior.
