Darius Byrd/Eric Berry Tandem Possible

Reports circulating about Chiefs having an interest in Jarius Byrd after Bills wont retain him. Imagine this and a top WR 1st round?
Sounds good to me if it can be done.

It will. The Chiefs will have enough money to get any one player they want. The question is WILL Clark allow it after all he did last year...I'm curious to see how it all plays out. How they treat this off season will tell me just how serous the Chiefs are at wanting to win.

No they didn't.

Marshawn Lynch was a virtual non factor, and Russel Wilson was making plays by avoiding pressure with his legs.
The Seahawk O-Line was getting beaten consistently.

On the other side of the ball, the. Seahawks showed that playing physical at the line on the receivers and communication in the secondary, and not allowing the. Receivers the YAC that that Denver offense relies on limits that offense and forces Manning to look downfield more, thus holding the ball longer.

That allowed their pass rush to affect Manning.

secondary played a huge role, but I think the defensive line played as large or larger role. They were constantly in mannings face.

Yes, the secondary was jumping routes and playing physical. Manning could have exploited the lack of cushion by throwing deep if he had time to throw....which he didnt.

Flowers as a safety? I would prefer someone that can tackle consistently.

When coverage is that tight any average nfl team will get pressure or sacks.
Seattle is ahead of the curve others will follow. It is not you can't spend X on cb or safety because they are too important.
The old saying defense wins championships is still true but how to do that has changed. You have to stop the pass today not the run.Pass rushers or a great secondary is the way defense wins championships today. Seattle way is build secondary. The giants loaded up on pass rushers. I think Seattle's way is better.

You wanting them to be interested, and them being interested are two very different things. This is how bullshit rumors get started.

Of course I want Byrd, and of course I want the Chiefs to be interested. It makes sense on the field, not sure if it makes sense financially.

But again - try to keep facts and opinions separate, because otherwise you're setting everyone up for a kick in the nuts.

Why couldn't the Chiefs afford him with 12 mil in cap after Smith restructures and will be able to dump Hali or Flowers contract next year.

You don't pay players on past performance. A 31 year old 10 year vet is not worth 12 mil.
