A 'pilot' is the term for the first episode of series (made with the intention of getting a studio to buy the series). In BB's first episode, Walt loses a pair of pants in the desert. In this most recent episode, as Walt is pushing his barrel of money, he walks by that pair of pants that he lost.

He showed some true humanity after what happened to Hank. He was devastated. The shit he's done finally hit his family.

So then he lashes out at what was at one time basically his surrogate son, to hurt him as much as possible, because he can't kill him himself. Telling Jesse that, after he'd already condemned him to torture and death, is just about the most evil thing I can think of.

I watched that last night. Seems like those guys are less in tune w/what's happening than we are. Of course Norris didn't want to give anything away but they didn't pick up on a lot of what's been discussed here.

Some people claim they love that episode so that we'll think they're really deep and they see all of the symbolism that everybody else misses.

The fact is the episode sucked. Sure, there were a few minutes here and there that were mildly interesting and told you a thing or two about the characters, but when you compare that episode with every other episode in the Breaking Bad series, it sucked.

Now if you want to compare "The Fly" to any episode in seasons 6, 7, or 8 of Dexter, it was magnificent.

That should put it into perspective.

IIRC, the very first scene of the pilot is his pants flying in the air.

I don't think there are many 'good guys' in this show. Maybe Walt Jr.

don't forget that Hank was perfectly willing to get Jessie killed in his pursuit of Walt. I believe he even said something to Gomie to that effect when addressing the fact that Jessie could be in danger when he was supposed to meet Walt.
