Chiefs holding vote for new TD song
The Chiefs tried this shit years ago and it didn't work because the fans got pissed. I'm guessing this is once again revolving around Gary Glitter being a pedo piece of shit and the Chiefs wanting to distance themselves from that.
http://www.kcchiefs.com/tdsongvote/ You can select from: 1) “Hey, Kansas City!” by David George & A Crooked Mile 2) “Song 2” by Blur 3) "Let Me Clear My Throat" by DJ Kool I guess Song 2 by Blur is the best of the bunch. Voting ends 31 August. |

My thought is for a board that is so knowledgeable about football, they sure are concerned about a song instead of playing football and winning!
Maybe just use the old song for WR TD's. |

I do not know where you get your information but your blithe assertions KC would not owe him much would be gross legal malpractice. If you had advised the Chiefs to keep the song because the royalties would be small, I would have advised you to contact your malpractice carrier because a lawsuit would shortly follow |

I WORKED at MCA/Universal Music Publishing. I had the sheet music and the copyrights IN MY HAND. They STILL own the copyright and will in perpetuity. The only payment that Glitter would receive is performance royalties, via ASCAP, which would total about $10 dollars a day, if he's lucky. Yes, it is. You pay the copyright holder for performances of their song.
Not all of us are inbred, slack-Jawed morons. The explanation counts more than the answer yet all you have done is make snide comments with no information to back up your statement. If you have information to support your position then make it. Otherwise throwing out assertions with no supporting information is pointless. Please do not flutter your eyelashes. It will irritate your rectal mucosa. |

ASCAP or BMI or SESAC collects revenue from television and Live performances in the United States. There is an upfront fee that's required when synchronizing to Film or TV (Sync Fee) which isn't applied in this case. Every venue that plays music in the US is required (although some businesses refuse) to pay a Performing Rights Society a fee, which is based on their size and number of people per month, a small fee. But that fee covers EVERY song played, not just a single song. I can't even fathom how you came to this ridiculous conclusion. I'm at a loss, completely. |
