No, this isn't a thread about the high cost of parking (sorry Guru). It's about the process.

My experience:

Going in, the people pointing me in all directions was a complete clusterfuck. I ended up getting separated from my other party and driving through A to find no spaces. Besides, I didn't want to be outside Royals Stadium, so had to go 1mph to the perimeter and work my way back to the center. Begged a golf cart security to escort me to D, they were nice and they did, but I ended up following the pointing parking monkeys and ended up on the middle of C.

After the game it took us 98 minutes to get out of the parking lot.

98 minutes.

That's with me reversing out of a line of cars which hadn't moved in 35 minutes and driving over a strip of grass to get into a real exit lane.

Is it always like this? It's friggen ridiculous.

The only consolation was I was in my 72 VW bus so I had the amusement of people coming up to me every 2 minutes to talk about the bus or give me a thumbs up or high-five, or call me: Scooby Doo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Beatles, Cheech and Chong, "hang ten, bro", Jerry Garcia, etc. I guess there aren't any old VW busses in KC.

But the parking. Yikes, was almost as bad as that loss. Almost.

I can't imagine sitting through that disaster and then sitting in that other disaster.

Seriously. All I wanted to do was turn off the motor, go sit in back and drink the rest of the beers in my cooler.

It's an Arrowhead tradition to delay leaving by one minute for every bad play in a game.

It just baffles me that they have these issues while the Royals, while not great, can atleast get you out in 10 minutes. And I realize there's probably 5K or so more cars but still. Royals game gets over, you go to your car, wait for traffic to start moving and you're done. Each lot has it's own exit and you can only go one way

Was it your first game at Arrowhead?

Leaving the stadium has been a major pain in the ass for a loooong time, at least since the 90's when I first started going to games.

It's another on the list of issues that were just fine, and are now ****ed beyond recognition.

It took me 5x longer to get out last night than it ever has.

Was it possible that Von Miller and Shane Ray and Aqib Talib and Malik Jackson were carjacking people?

No, it's just the Chiefs dink and dunk parking lot exit policy. They move cars ahead two yards at a time.

Arrowhead is easy to get out of for noon games because people have all day. Night games are terrible.

We also found we got home at the same time, and we live 3 hrs away. Just my 2 c
