World Anti-Doping Agency: Russia Should be Banned from the 2016 Olympics

http://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/34765444

http://espn.go.com/olympics/trackand...field-athletes

After a long investigation, WADA just released a shocking report today accusing the Russian Federation of running a huge state-sponsored doping scheme, including helping their athletes avoid detection in drug testing. They named 10 Russian athletes and coaches who should be banned for life, and given how corrupt Russia apparently is and the little amount of time remaining to the next olympic games, they also recommend that the IOC ban Russia from competing in Rio. (Not sure if the recommendation is just Russia's track and field team, or all of their athletes)

The IOC is not obligated to agree to the recommendation, but there's pressure all over the world on the IOC to hammer Russia.

No, what you actually said was that the Astros were a better team than the Royals. You said it after game 3 and then you admitted it again today. If you believe that's the case, then you also believe the best team doesn't always win in a playoff series (and therefore the best team doesn't always win the WS).

Racked up a 26-38 differential in the ALCS. (54-108 full season equivalent). As you might imagine, that was not the best ALCS since the 2001 Mariners.

You had less belief in your own team than I did and you've admitted that the best team doesn't always win in a baseball playoff series. Considering that, I don't know whether it's more funny or pathetic that you continue to troll here on these points.

Quality bears itself out in baseball over a far longer time than 15+ games. There are plenty of studies that I could cite for you on that point, but I know they'd fall on deaf ears.
I am sure you can cite studies but IMHO in 7 game series the best teams wins with one exception and that is if there is a catastrophic injury to the team..ie if Lebron gets hurt and can't play. I think all the randomness\shitty calls that happens evens itself out over a 7 game series.

And just to refresh my memory didn't the Royals have the best record in the AL? They probably would have had the best record overall if they hadn't decided to take the last month off.

7 games is way too small of a sample size to say much of anything about anybody in baseball. It's just the nature of this particular quite random sport. Hell, even Mike Trout, the best player in baseball and a future HOF, has awful 7 game stretches over a 162 game season.

I'm not even arguing that the Royals weren't the best team here (as you can plainly see, I was more of a believer in them than PB), I'm just saying that the best team doesn't always win in a short series in baseball. If you look through baseball history, that's pretty plain to see.

Yes it does. It bore itself out over around 350 games over the past two seasons that you don't play games on paper, and that the best team always beats the best players - as we saw in the ALCS.

Do you feel the same way in regards to the NBA or NHL? Shooters\scorers can go cold or maybe the best way to look at it is maybe the players are great in the regular season but when the pressure is on they wilt.

Absolutely. That element just exists to a lesser extent than it does in baseball because of the nature of this particular sport.

Well I'm not saying I agree with that either, I'm just saying it is besides the point here.

Alright, will someone tell this douche that the BJs were a really special team, so he can get on with his life?

I wasn't the one who brought up the Jays in this thread that had nothing to do with them (that was you and others), nor am I the one who trying to troll here pathetically like you are. The fact that I was more of a believer in your own team than you, though, really says it all.
