It's a surgery, and 6 weeks of rehabbing.

Do you think the change in the training camp rules -making practices a lot less strenuous- has anything to do with the rash of injuries this year? Or do you think it's been about normal course of business? Chiefs have had more than usual so far.

Has to have something to do with it. Guys just aren't in the kind of shape that they used to be able to get into before the season starts.

Then when the live hitting begins and people are trying to destroy each other, their bodies aren't ready to absorb the shock and these injuries to ligaments are happening at a much higher rate.

That game against the cowboys was by far the worst tackling I've seen all year.

We've been pretty decent without both of them so far. Abdullah is playing like he did in the playoff game. Parker isn't screwing up like Lewis did.

No, it's not. There are two types of meniscus surgeries: dumb ones and smart ones. The stupid meniscus surgery involves a removal of the meniscus and carries a shorter recovery time. It also guarantees an arthritic knee.

The meniscus surgery that should always be performed involves stitching the tear back together and requires several months of healing. That's why Derrick Rose sat out the remainder of the regular season last year.
