Which Dell did you buy? I just bought one too, 27inch, 1440p, 144hz, 1ms, etc and I love it. It was like night and day comparative.
I did think the colors were washed out until I played multiple games on it and realized my other monitor just made colors brighter instead of crisper and more natural looking. It took me a little bit to get used to it. |

I got this one and it is night and day to my 1080p monitor. I absolutely love it.
https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/ edit: That is actually my center monitor and I bought two of the Pixio monitors as well. Have everything the Asus does except the gsync. They have the other sync for those other video cards https://www.amazon.com/Pixio-PX277-2.../dp/B01HPDAF68

That is the same monitor I bought. I got some settings off the Internet and made adjustments but the colors still seem washed out and the blacks not so great. Just wasn't getting that "vivid" picture one would expect for nearly 500 bucks! I got a gtx1070 too so no issues there. Just feeling underwhelmed

For the most part you are sacrificing color for framerate on a 144hz monitor.
I have 2 144hz monitors and I just got used to it. The framerate > color in my opinion (for gaming). I have my PS4 hooked up to mine too and when that's on the colors look great, I don't know why it looks better than my PC. Also if most your gaming is done on a PS4 then your monitor is overkill because 99% of PS4 games can't output at over 30 fps. |

Most people dont set their monitors too 144 you have to do that iin the control panels and certain games you have to set it up using their options as well.
Also, bump up the resolution, it should look alot better. I went from a 27inch 60ghz BENQ monitor that i had for Street Fighter Where there is no above 60 fps on PC. Anyways, when i went to 144 it was a huge difference especially in the smoothnes. 4K gaming is a JOke right now, NOT worth it. In competitive multiplayer games, it just holds you back. |
