Is Herrera even available tonight? I'm guessing the fact that we've played 3 games in the last two days helped Yost decide to leave Kennedy in there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Soria was the closer tonight. At least Kennedy is starting to turn in the right direction. He had a solid 2nd half last year too.

I know Moylan isn't the greatest, but I've probably seen about half the Royals games this year, and every time I've watched, he's been pretty decent.

Has he just earned most of that 6.00 ERA on a number of large AIDSy games or something?

Yes. Since June started he has given up just 2 ER.

Prior to that he had three notable outings that he got hit pretty good.

April 24- 0.1 IP 5 ER vs CHW
May 10- 1.0 IP 5 ER vs TB
May 17- 1.0 IP 4 ER vs NYY

Yep that's it. Good catch. I looked it up... he's given up 18 ER this year.

14 of those runs game in those games you listed.

A really bad month of April and May kind of hurt his #'s.

He's pitched in 37 games... and had 3 really, really horrible outings where he got destroyed and it's blown up his ERA. But otherwise he's been solid.

Can't imagine trying to pinch hit off a guy like Moylan. Just a tough assignment to not only come in cold but also come in cold against a funky guy.

I'm guessing/hoping we see Minor for the 8th and then Soria.
