Except now there is a new enforcer. Todd will be to Walt what Mike was to gus. Wouldn't be surprised to see Walt have Todd kill Mike.

Disagree. I don't think Todd has even close to the skill set, experiences, and connections that Mike has. Mike isn't just an enforcer, he's a fixer.

I agree with Brock. Todd will be dead soon.

I think offing Todd quickly would be a wasted opportunity to flesh out a mysterious character and increase conflict within the group over the next 3 episodes. Todd's gone from "helpful" exterminator crew member to being awfully quick -- and good -- with a handgun. What's his background? Who is he?

What happens if Walt protects Todd while Jesse loses it over a kid being killed?

Vince Gilligan has indicated that Episode 8 (the end of this "half-season") will have some bad, bad stuff in it. That could definitely be Skyler getting whacked. Maybe Mike.

But killing Jesse at the midway point would be a Fring-like "HOLY ****" end to the 8-episode run and set up Walt's complete spiral downward the final 8 eps next year.

I've always thought the two deaths that would deliver the most emotional punch would be Walt Jr.'s or Jesse's. (I've already mentioned my darkest ending: Skyler, Walt Jr. and the baby all get killed, Walt survives knowing that all the stuff he did "for his family" wound up getting them all killed.)

That's my .02 of speculation. But I can certainly envision lots of alternate plots.

Also, Walt has to have been impressed with Jesse so far this season. When Walt and Mike were butting egos, Jesse has been the man with the solutions. It almost seems like Walt has built a nice little crew – the longtime sidekick with a knack for solving problems, the business guru, and the cold-blooded enforcer.

There's got to be something with that watch Jessie gave Walt. A bug in it? Jessie was pretty pissed when Walt tracked him with the GPS.

If not that, its got to play some role somewhere. Why write the scene with Jessie giving it to him, Walt making a big deal of it to Skyler, Hank noticing it? There has to be a later plot point about it.

I think you're overthinking it.

Walt used it to make a point to Skyler about how he can convince people to like him. Hank noticing means, IMO, that it will become one of those dots that Hank will connect that Walt is Heisenberg (i.e., the sudden showy spending of the cars and now the watch). Remember, Hank noticed Lydia's mismatched shoes.

The scene just showed just how loyal and trusting Jessie is to Walt. Out of everybody in Walt's life, Jessie is the only person who really cares about him now.

And I thought Gomez might be crooked, but now that I think about it more I think he'll be a casualty. I think he'll find something out before Hank and make Mike or Walt take him out.
