Dell Laptop Unable to install any TAP or any NIC drivers...
Windows 10... Install of any type of NIC driver fails. WTF am I missing?

Are you sure you're installing the correct driver? You can't just install any type...

I was hoping that maybe Dell started implementing some sort of security to block/prevent driver installs that I was not aware of.

Unable to even install driver updates from Dell on this piece of shit.

Always have hated dell and still do.

The VPN installer just says that the Tap Device install Failed.

The dell driver update wizard just says the drivers it is updating failed.

Did you try right-clicking the installers and selecting Run as Administrator? Disabling any virus scanners?

Also.. launch Event Viewer, and find some log file info for more details.

Try downloading the exact driver for the NIC instead of using Dell's driver update wizard.

Yep. May be a hardware issue.... Trying to do a system restore and it is failing as well.

Before you go system restore make sure you do a manual windows update. Sometimes, not always, but sometimes Windows Update will detect the hardware and the missing drivers and fix it for you.

Was an OS issue... Clean install fixed everything.
